2021 NFL MVP Odds: Week 8

We’ve seen some real movement in the NFL MVP odds over the last week. After being the fifth favorite at this time last week, Tom Brady is now the overall favorite to win the award. Brady has been named the NFL MVP three times in his career, and he would love to run down rival Peyton Manning who currently has won the MVP a record five times.

Tom Brady

This Week’s Odds: +400

Last Week’s Odds: +800

Brady was great last week in a 38-3 blowout of the Chicago Bears. He threw for four touchdown passes in the first half, and he already has 2,275 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. Tampa Bay has a good chance of defending its Super Bowl title, and the GOAT has three great receivers and Rob Gronkowski at his disposal in the passing game.

Josh Allen

This Week’s Odds: +500

Last Week’s Odds: +650

Allen has moved from dark horse to favorite as the Bills have emerged as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. With the Kansas City Chiefs faltering, someone needs to win the AFC, and Buffalo might be the team to do it. Buffalo is only 4-2, but the Bills could be primed to go on a run. They play in a very weak division, and the Bills won’t be an underdog again until they play the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay on December 12.

Dak Prescott

This Week’s Odds: +550

Last Week’s Odds: +400

We’ve seen Dak Prescott’s odds take a hit as he continues to deal with a calf injury. Prescott might not be able to play this week against Minnesota, but this might be a time to buy low on Dallas’ quarterback. The Cowboys play in the worst division in football, and they could easily win 13 or 14 games this season if Prescott stays healthy.

Kyler Murray

This Week’s Odds: +550

Last Week’s Odds: +425

Arizona is no longer unbeaten after Murray threw two interceptions in a loss to Green Bay on Thursday night. It was a tough night for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but the Cardinals are still the frontrunners in the NFC West.

Derrick Henry

This Week’s Odds: +900

Last Week’s Odds: +600

It might be time to buy in on Derrick Henry too. Henry is going to win the rushing title for a third straight season if he stays healthy, and we are overdue to have a non-quarterback win the MVP. He ran for 2,000 yards last season, and he is on pace to run for even more yards in 2021.

Aaron Rodgers

This Week’s Odds: +900

Last Week’s Odds: +1400

Stay away from Aaron Rodgers, as he has a much tougher road to hoe to win the MVP than the odds indicate. Rodgers has been named MVP three times in the last decade, and it would take a truly special season to repeat. He isn’t on pace to throw for more than 4,000 yards or 40 touchdowns this year, and he needs to put up much better numbers to win back-to-back MVP awards.
