Fresh off an exciting UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi, the UFC will have another major promotion in the Big Apple this weekend. UFC 268 will feature two title fights as Kamaru Usman defends his UFC Welterweight Championship against Colby Covington for a second time and Rose Namajunas takes on Zhang Weili for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship in a rematch of UFC 261.
UFC 268 will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on Saturday, November 6, 2021. The prelims will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN News and ESPN+, and the main card will get underway at 10 p.m. ET via PPV through ESPN+.
UFC 268: Usman vs. Covington 2 Parlay Picks
Kamaru Usman -310 vs. Colby Covington
It’s been a long time since Kamaru Usman suffered a defeat. Usman is 19-1, and he has won 18 straight fights after losing his second bout as a professional. He is currently the top-ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC, as he has been impressive in his four title defenses since beating Tyron Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Championship at UFC 235. Usman took down Colby Covington in their last meeting, and he should make even quicker work of him this time.
Covington has only entered the Octagon once since his loss to Usman at UFC 245. He defeated Tyron Woodley by fifth-round TKO over a year ago, but he has been more interested in talking than fighting lately. While Covington did give Usman a run for his money in their first bout, that won’t be the case this time.
Zhang Weili -115 vs. Rose Namajunas
Thug Rose is the reigning UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship, but she is a slight underdog against Zhang Weili for a reason. Weili was a favorite in the first fight between these competitors, yet she was caught by a leg kick early in the first round and was subsequently knocked out.
Namajunas has won five of her last six fights, but she needed a split decision to get past Jessica Andrade at UFC 251, and she isn’t as skilled of a fighter as Weili. The former champion had won 21 straight bouts before her loss to Namajunas in April, so it’s worth taking her at this price.
Justin Gaethje -205 vs. Michael Chandler
It’s a little curious to see Justin Gaethje be this short of a favorite. Gaethje has been a one-man wrecking crew since his loss to Dustin Poirier, knocking out three straight opponents in the first round before his convincing win over Tony Ferguson. He lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 254, but it’s hard to hold that against him considering Khabib is considered the best MMA fighter in the history of the sport by many observers.
Michael Chandler suffered a second round TKO loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 262, and his only win in the UFC came against Dan Hooker. Chandler should not be getting this much respect given his track record, so lay the chalk with Gaethje.
