MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: NEW YORK GIANTS AT TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

BY ADAM GREENE

There’s just one reason why Monday Night Football didn’t flex out of this game for a much better mach up and that reason is Tom Brady. It’s just one more thing to hold against the dude.

On the bright side, we’ll get plenty of highlights of Brady losing the Super bowl as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the New York Giants at Raymond James Stadium.

Of course, none of that will fill your highlight packages up. What you will see is the Giants, led by future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Eli Manning, defeating the Tom Brady led New England Patriots in the Super Bowl twice, once even denying the Pats the chance at finishing a perfect 19-0 season in the 2007-08.

NEW YORK GIANTS AT TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (-11.5, O/U: 50)

Location: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Fla.

Broadcast: ESPN

Kickoff: Nov. 22, 8:15 p.m.

NEW YORK GIANTS (3-6)

If there’s a mystery with the Giants this year, it’s the fact that two of their three victories have come against winning teams. Such was the case last week when New York knocked off the snake bit Las Vegas Raiders 23-16. Jones finished with just 110 yards passing, but did throw a TD. Devonte Booker rushed 21 times for 99 yards and Evan Engram hauled in a TD pass. New York sacked Derek Carr once and picked him off twice.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (5-4)

The Buccaneers dropped their second game in a row a week ago, falling 29-19 to the Washington Football Team. Brady was once again careless with the ball at the end of the game, throwing for 220 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Mike Evans caught two passes for 62 yards. Leonard Fournette rushed 11 times for 47 yards. Tampa’s defense did sack Taylor Heinicke five times.

THE PICK

We talk about distractions a lot in the NFL and the Bucs got a big one this week when it was reveled that Antonio Brown might have faked his vaccine status with a counterfeit card. Not only is that against the NFL’s rules, but it’s a federal crime to forge a vaccination card. And here’s a fun fact: this year the Bucs are 5-0 with Brown active and on the field. They’re 1-3 when he’s not. He will not play Monday night. I’m not sure it makes a difference in the win-loss columns, but I’m not comfortable with the spread. Buccaneers 23, Giants 17
