2021 NFL MVP Odds – Week 15
Tom Brady is now the odds-on favorite to be named NFL MVP. Brady had another great performance in a Tampa Bay win last week, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be poised to grab the No. 1 seed. The GOAT has put up better numbers than any other quarterback this season, and it looks to be his award to lose.
Tom Brady
This Week’s Odds: -215
Last Week’s Odds: +130
What more can Tom Brady do for an encore? The best quarterback in the history of the NFL is in line for his fourth NFL MVP, and he has thrown for over 4,100 yards and 36 touchdowns. Brady is on pace to finish with more than 5,000 passing yards and 45 touchdowns on a team that will win its division, and it’s going to be hard to top that combination of stats and success.
Aaron Rodgers
This Week’s Odds: +650
Last Week’s Odds: +600
The reigning NFL MVP had a nice performance against the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football. Aaron Rodgers will have a hard time repeating as MVP though. He is not a sentimental pick, and he just doesn’t have the numbers despite tossing only four interceptions. Rodgers ranks 10th in passing yards, so we would need a sensational finish combined with a subpar performance from Brady.
Matthew Stafford
This Week’s Odds: +1000 (No Change)
Matthew Stafford shook off some recent performances to have a bounce back game with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. The Rams beat the Arizona Cardinals to stay in contention for the NFC West title. However, Robert Woods is out for the season, and it looks like the team will be without Odell Beckham Jr. for this week’s game due to COVID. Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson are good to go, but the fall-off after those two players is steep.
Kyler Murray
This Week’s Odds: +1400
Last Week’s Odds: +800
You can essentially write off Kyler Murray as an NFL MVP contender. Murray wasn’t great in the Cardinals’ loss to the Rams on Monday night. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has already missed three games due to injury, and he greatly benefits from having the best group of receivers in the league. Murray has thrown less than 20 touchdown passes, and that’s just not enough for him to be taken seriously as a contender.
Patrick Mahomes
This Week’s Odds: +1600
Last Week’s Odds: +1800
Kansas City has come on strong in recent weeks. The Chiefs are on a six-game winning streak, and they can likely lock up the AFC West with a victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. Patrick Mahomes is playing better, but he has been a little too mistake prone with 12 interceptions in 13 games. It’s hard to see a scenario in which Mahomes wins the MVP.
Jonathan Taylor
This Week’s Odds: +1800
Last Week’s Odds: +1000
This bet has the most value on the board. Jonathan Taylor’s odds to win MVP nearly doubled during Indianapolis’ bye week, but they could suddenly plummet if Taylor has another 100-yard game with a touchdown in a Colts’ win over New England on Saturday. The Patriots have the best defense in the league, so a strong performance by Taylor would get the momentum going for the top running back in the NFL this season.
