4 Best Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl LVI Props

It’s the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. The Bengals are making their first appearance in the big game since January of 1989, when they lost Super Bowl XXIII to the San Francisco 49ers. The Bengals are making their third Super Bowl appearance overall, and each time they have faced an NFC West opponent from the state of California. The Bengals had not won a single playoff game since January of 1991 when they entered this year’s postseason. They reeled off three wins in January and stunned the defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs to make their way back to the Super Bowl.

Here are four Super Bowl LVI Cincinnati Bengals props for you to evaluate:

Super Bowl MVP: Joe Burrow at +230

The Bengal player with the best odds of being Super Bowl MVP is clearly Burrow, and whereas Matthew Stafford of the Rams has other teammates who could legitimately be viewed as MVP alternatives, Burrow is overwhelmingly the top man for Cincinnati. Stafford could be upstaged by dependable receiver Cooper Kupp or defensive superstar Aaron Donald. If Cincinnati wins, it’s almost a guarantee that Burrow will have a great game, which will make him the MVP favorite.

Maybe there is a scenario in which Ja’Marr Chase makes unbelievable individual plays on ordinary or bad throws from Burrow and turns them into game-changing touchdowns. Maybe Chase could become the unexpected Bengal MVP. However, it’s much more likely that Burrow will properly read the Rams’ defense and make great throws to Chase, in which case Chase’s successes will be a result of Burrow’s excellence. Burrow would beat Chase as the MVP from the Cincinnati side in this game. If you believe the Bengals will win, you should be pounding Burrow for MVP with plus odds.

Joe Burrow passing yards

Over 276.5: -110

Under 276.5: -110

If you think the Bengals will win, go over. If you think the Rams will win, go under. The Rams have a strong defensive line against the Bengals’ suspect offensive line. If the Rams win, it will be with their defense. Burrow will throw a lot regardless of outcome, but if the Rams’ pass rush is successful, Burrow will not have much time to throw the ball down the field for big gains. You are going to see a lot of short passes in order to handle the Los Angeles pass rush. Burrow’s odds of accumulating a lot of passing yards are better if the Bengals score a lot (30 points) and win, rather than if they get behind early. Cincinnati falling behind early will mean the Bengals won’t get many yards in the first half and will not be able to show any offensive balance or variety in the second half. Burrow going over will be the product of hitting downfield strikes early and continuing to find openings in the Rams’ secondary.

Joe Mixon Rushing Yards

Over 62.5: -120

Under 62.5: -120

The Bengals are not a good running team. Everyone knows this. Mixon is talented, but the Rams are stacked on the defensive line and should be able to have their way with the Cincinnati offensive line in the rushing game. Joe Burrow will have to win this game, and Mixon is probably best used as a receiver rather than a runner for the Bengals. Go under here.

Ja’Marr Chase Rushing Yards

Over 3.5: -110

Under 3.5: -110

This is a great chance to take the over. All it takes is for Bengal head coach Zac Taylor to arrive at the conclusion that a traditional running game won’t work against the Rams’ defense, and that he has to find creative ways of incorporating Ja’Marr Chase into the offense. Just one end-around or fly sweep could gain four yards, and you would cash with an over ticket. If Cincinnati had a better chance of running the ball in a traditional way against the Rams, this prop wouldn’t be nearly as interesting.
