Unlike the 2021-22 campaign which saw the Los Angeles Chargers lose their play-in game against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 18, last year the Chargers actually made it into the bracket. Then immediately lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round.
While the all-round team performed better, quarterback Justin Herbert had a down year for him, at least in touchdown production. His 25 TDs last year was the first of his three seasons where he didn’t throw and run for at least 36 touchdowns,

Los Angeles Chargers 2023 Odds
2023 AFC Championship Odds: +1100
Team Wins: Over 9.5 (-140), Under 9.5 (+110)
For a playoff team, the Chargers’ schedule isn’t all that tough. They open hosting the Miami Dolphins, a legit opponent, before traveling to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans. The week after they’re at the Minnesota Vikings then host the Las Vegas Raiders. That could equal a 2-2 start, but I’m thinking they’ll go 3-1.
They have two difficult games after their bye, hosting the Dallas Cowboys, then traveling to Kansas City for the first of two games against the Chiefs. It gets smoother after, with only three games left on the schedule against teams that made the playoffs in 2022.
LA had the chance last year to prove it belonged in the contender conversation, but blew that shot in their first playoff game. The AFC is absolutely loaded and even nine wins might not be enough to secure a spot in the final seven. I thinking the Chargers win one more than they need.
2023-23 Win Prediction: 10-7
