MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WEEK 10: DENVER BRONCOS AT BUFFALO BILLS

BY ADAM GREENE

Listen, NFL. We talked about this. We’ve all, as a civilization, requested specifically to have the Denver Broncos removed from every Prime Time slate and here they are again. No one wants this. Not even in Denver. Yet, here we are again as the Broncos travel to upstate New York to take on the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

Like our Sunday Night Football game, this MNF contest boasts two of our original AFL franchises, so this series goes all the way back to 1960. Buffalo leads the all-time match up 23-16-1 and has won three in a row. They last met on Dec. 19, 202 with the Bills blowing out the Broncos 48-19 in Denver. Josh Allen was 28 of 40 passing for 359 yards, two touchdowns and no picks. He rushed three times for 33 yards and two scores. Zack Moss (now with the Indianapolis Colts) had 13 carries for 81 yards. Stefon Diggs caught 11 passes for 147 yards. Cole Beasley had eight grabs for 112 yards.

In the loss, Drew Lock (now with the Seattle Seahawks) was 20 of 32 passing for 132 yards, one touchdown and no picks. Melvin Gordon (now with the Baltimore Ravens) rushed 11 times for 61 yards and two TDs. Noah Fant (also now with the Seahawks) caught eight passes for 68 yards and a score.

DENVER BRONCOS AT BUFFALO BILLS (-7.5, O/U: 46.5)

Location: Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, N.Y..

Broadcast: ABC/ESPN

Kickoff: Nov. 13, 8:15 p.m.

DENVER BRONCOS (3-5)

Don’t look now, but the Broncos have won two straight, including a monster upset over the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago that they took 24-9. Russell Wilson didn’t do a lot, but he was efficient, going 12 of 19 passing for 114 yards, three touchdowns and no picks. He scrambled eight times for 30 yards and was sacked six times. Javonte Williams rushed 27 times for 85 yards. He added three catches for 13 yards and a score. Jerry Jeudy caught two passes for 50 yards and a TD. Courtland Sutton had two grabs for 29 yards and a touchdown. The defense picked off Patrick Mahomes twice, sacked him three times and held the Chiefs to just 62 yards on the ground.

BUFFALO BILLS (5-4)

Here’s something that shouldn’t shock anyone. The Bills lost to the Cincinnati Bengals last week, again, falling 24-18. Josh Allen was 26 of 38 passing for 258 yards, one touchdown and a pick. He led the team with eight rushes for 44 yards and a score and was sacked once. Stefon Diggs caught six passes for 86 yards and a TD. Dalton Kincaid continued his coming out party, hauling in 10 receptions for 81 yards. The defense sacked Joe Burrow once and held Cincy to 54 yards rushing.

THE PICK

Buffalo likes to toy with the spread and make every game harder than it should be, but here’s one thing I’m sure about. They’re not losing two straight and definitely not falling to Denver. Bills 31, Broncos 23

Last week

Straight up: 11-5

Against the spread: 10-6

Season

Straight up: 75-47

Against the spread: 65-57
