CRAZY NFL PARLAY: WEEK 11

BY ADAM GREENE

And, at last, we have arrived at the desert portion of our prelude to the NFL Weekend. Yes, it’s time to unleash the Crazy NFL Parlay upon an unsuspecting, but grateful, populace.

We got relatively close last week, hitting five of eight. If you’re using my Crazy Parlays to build your own, I can’t blame you. I do that too, but, you know, look at what happens if we hit one of these.

After all, I’m not picking these at random. I’m trying to harness the universe’s natural chaotic tendency and monetize it.

Here are the games that caught my eye this week;

Pittsburgh Steelers +100

Arizona Cardinals +215

Green Bay Packers +152

Los Angeles Rams -105

New York Jets +260

Minnesota Vikings +113

Philadelphia Eagles +123

If you’ve read my Friday Afternoon Quarterback, Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football, then you know I’ve picked a couple of these upsets. I like the Steelers to continue to screw up their franchise’s future championship potential by winning in spite of offensive coordinator Matt Canada (who Mike Tomlin will not fire with a winning record) by defeating a Cleveland Browns team fielding a rookie quarterback. The Rams and Sean McVay have consistently defeated the Seattle Seahawks with even a modicum of health on the team. With a full(ish) roster Sunday and Matthew Stafford back, I expect that trend to continue.

It’s the other games we need to talk ourselves into, so let’s get cracking.

Kyler Murray had a solid season debut for the Cardinals last week and is facing off against a surprising, but certainly beatable Houston Texans team led by a rookie quarterback. CJ Stroud has been phenomenal this season, but he’s due a bad game and, even if he doesn’t, the Cards now have the offensive tools to win a shootout.

The Packers are hosting an underperforming Los Angeles Chargers team playing in the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. The Brandon Staley vs Matt LaFleur coaching battle is a mismatch and the Chargers have had issues on the road all season.

The Jets have already defeated the Buffalo Bills once, in Week 1 of the season, and Buffalo just fired its offensive coordinator. They’ve barely had a week to “fix” the offense and New York has the defense that can shut pretty much any offense down.

Joshua Dobbs has been nearly perfect for the Vikings while the Denver Broncos might have spent all their good mojo on a couple of monster wins over AFC opponents. Plus, Justin Jefferson might be back and put up a huge game with his new QB.

And, lastly, the Eagles owe the Kansas City Chiefs for a Super Bowl loss. Plus, there’s every chance these two teams will meet back up in Super Bowl LVIII. If there’s one team that can keep Patrick Mahomes from winning two straight, it’s Philly and this could set the stage for that.

A $10 winning parley bet on these seven moneylines pays $5,290.20.
