CHRISTMAS DAY WEEK 16 GAME 2: NEW YORK GIANTS AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

And in our world of plenty, we can spread a smile of joy as we lean into our second Christmas Day NFL contest when the New York Giants travel to the City of Brotherly Love to face off against the slumping Philadelphia Eagles.
This is one of the oldest rivalries in the league, going all the way back to 1933. This will be the 182nd meeting between the franchises with Philadelphia holding a 92-87-2 advantage in the series. The Eagles have won four straight over the G-Men and 25 of their last 32 matchups going back to 2008. Philly won their last meeting in the NFC Divisional Round last season, 38-7.
Jalen Hurts was 16 of 24 passing for 154 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the win. He rushed nine times for 34 yards and a score. Kenny Gainwell had 12 carries for 112 yards and a TD. Miles Sanders (now with the Carolina Panthers) toted the rock 17 times for 90 yards. DeVonta Smith caught six passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. Dallas Goedert had five receptions for 58 yards and a TD.
In the loss, Daniel Jones (now out for the season) was 15 of 27 passing for 135 yards, no touchdowns and a pick. He rushed six times for 24 yards. Saquon Barkley had nine carries for 61 yards and caught two passes for 21 yards. Richie James hauled in seven balls for 51 yards.

NEW YORK GIANTS (5-9)

Tommy DeVito crash landed back to Earth with a 20 of 34 passing day for 177 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He led the team in rushing with four carries for 36 yards and was sacked seven times. Tyrod Taylor came out of the bullpen to finish out the game going 2 of 4 passing for 13 yards. Darius Slayton caught four passes for 63 yards. The defense sacked Derek Carr once and held the Saints to just 87 total yards on the ground.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (10-4)
The Eagles freefall continued last week, losing 20-17 to the Seattle Seahawks Monday night. It was their third loss in a row. Jalen Hurts was 17 of 31 passing for 143 yards, no touchdowns and two picks in the loss. He led Philly on the ground with 13 carries for 82 yards and two scores. D’Andre Swift rushed 18 times for 74 yards. AJ Brown caught five passes for 56 yards. The defense sacked Drew Lock twice and held the Seahawks to just 100 total yards rushing.
THE PICK
Philly has already clinched a playoff spot and, if they win out, will take the NFC East crown and, at worst, the No. 2 overall seed. New York remains mathematically alive for the playoffs, but the math will turn on them after this game. Eagles 38, Giants 17
