Next James Bond Odds: Aaron Taylor-Johnson Remains The Favorite: +100

We still don’t know when we’ll get an official announcement but speculation continues to grow

over who will take on the legendary role of agent 007. It is considered one of the most

glamorous roles in the industry and now the big question remains who will take the mantle from

Daniel Craig.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson +100

Producers of the British spy series are trying to secure an actor who can sign on for a multi-film

deal and are looking for someone under the age of 40. So Aaron Taylor-Johnson makes sense

and the betting odds reflect this. The 33-year-old has been featured in several films and also

played John Lennon in Nowhere Boy. Taylor-Johnson also won Best Supporting Actor Golden

Globe for his role in Nocturnal Animals.

Tom Hardy +400

For the last few years Tom Hardy has been near the top of the betting board. The public loves

this choice but others may not agree. He definitely has the star power, and British background

but he’s older than what producers are looking for. Hardy is 44-years-old, a bit over the ‘under

40’ range they are seeking. And at 5-foot-9 he’s shorter than Daniel Craig so perhaps this

wager is one to avoid despite his short odds.

Henry Cavill +800

Henry Cavill has always been in the running for this role but he turned 40 last year and now

could be more of a longshot to become James Bond. He has taken on massive roles in recent

years playing Superman, Sherlock Holmes and Napoleon Solo in the film adaptation of the

1960s TV spy series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. So he has the experience of playing a spy

character. He also was in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and will be in another action spy film

later this year.

Damson Idris +1200

Damson Idris received glowing reviews for his role in Snowfall, where he played teenage drug dealer

Franklin Saint. The series followed Saint in the 1980’s in L.A. with the rise of crack cocaine. The

32-year-old from London hit the screen in 2016 in the British thriller City of Tiny Lights and the

following year made his American debut in the film Megan Leavey. Idris has won the Emerging

Talent Award at the Screen Nation Film and Television Awards and could be a bit of a sleeper to don

the Bond tuxedo.
