Tackling Machine Foyesade Oluokun Looks to Lead NFL Again

The offensive players typically get the spotlight and big money contracts but defensive players

are just as important, and usually aren’t in the same limelight. Foyesade Oluokun and Bobby

Wagner have led the NFL in tackles on more than one occasion and odds suggest they will do it

again in 2024. But are there some value plays? We investigate.

Foyesade Oluokun JAC +600

Foyesade Oluokun is looking for his third tackles title in the last four seasons. He’s been an

absolute beast recording four straight seasons of at least 117 tackles and in the last three, has

averaged an eye-popping 183. After four seasons in Atlanta, the sixth-round pick is now the

Jaguars most important linebacker.

Bobby Wagner WSH +900

Bobby Wagner is looking for this fourth title as the league’s tackler after leading the NFL with

183 last season. Wagner is a machine recording triple-digit tackles in all 12 seasons. He’s

averaged 142 over his illustrious career and a big reason why he could lead again, he signed

with Washington, a rebuilding team, and that means the defense could be on the field often.

Alex Singleton DEN +1000

Another player who could be on the field often because of a rebuilding team is Alex Singleton.

He had 328 tackles, plus 37 more in the postseason during his three seasons in the CFL. Last

season Singleton had a career-high of 177 tackles with the Denver Broncos, and offers solid

value to record the post tackles in 2024.

T.J. Edwards CHI +1200

T.J. Edwards could also offer some value after posting 130, 159, and 155 tackles over the last

three seasons. The Bears will have top pick Caleb Williams at the helm but if the rookie

struggles or makes mistakes, Edwards and the defense will have to spend more time on the

field, and he could rack up some more tackles. And at +1200, why the heck not.
