Week 13 Monday Night Football Trends

Monday night’s game will have a huge impact on the NFC playoff picture, with Seattle taking over the top spot in the NFC West and the second seed in the conference with a win. The Vikings will look to keep pace with the Packers in the NFC North in hopes of avoiding a Wild Card berth. If you’re looking to make things a little more interesting, here are some trends to inform your betting decisions.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS (+2.5) @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

The Seahawks are 6-2 ATS after a win and as home favorites. They’re on a three-game cover streak. As home favorites, they’re 3-2 ATS. Since Russell Wilson’s rookie season, they’re 4-1 ATS against Minnesota. They’ve covered 13 of their last 20 as home favorites in December.

The Vikings are 5-3 ATS outside of the NFC North and 2-5 ATS after a win. Since 2005, they’re 13-7 ATS as road underdogs in December. Since 2009, they’re 2-7-1 ATS after a bye but 2-3 ATS since Mike Zimmer took over.

The last two meetings between these teams (2016, 2018) went under. Both teams have gone over in six of 11 games. 

The Seahawks have gone over in six of eight games after a win. They’ve gone under in five of eight as favorites.

Minnesota went over in three of four with a rest advantage. They went under in their last three December road games as underdogs. Zimmer’s Vikings have gone under in 10 of 15 primetime games and five of six Monday night games.

Russell Wilson is 5-0 against the Vikings. Under Pete Carroll, the Seahawks are 17-8 at home in December. They’re also 27-5-1 in primetime games in the Carroll era. In 2019, they’re 6-2 after a win and as favorites. They’re 3-2 at home.

Mike Zimmer is 2-3 after a bye and 6-9 in primetime games. This season, the Vikings are 7-1 outside of the NFC North. 

PROPS

In three career games against the Seahawks, Kirk Cousins as averaging 246 passing yards per game with three total passing touchdowns. In seven career Monday night games, he’s averaging 268 passing yards per game and threw multiple touchdown passes three times.

Russell Wilson has one 300-yard game in 10 career Monday night appearances. When he faced the Vikings on Monday night last season, he had 72 passing yards. He averages 1.7 passing touchdowns per Monday night game. Despite not having a touchdown in last season’s game, Wilson still has eight passing scores in four regular season meetings with Minnesota.

The Vikings have given up at least 75 receiving yards to six different receivers over their last three games. At 1.4 per game, the Vikings give up the third-most touchdowns to wide receivers in the league.

The Seahawks have allowed six receivers to go over 100 yards this season. They also give up the fourth-most yards to tight ends (67.1 per game). 

The Vikings allow running backs to score 0.3 rushing touchdowns per game, which is tied for the second-fewest in the league. The Seahawks allow 0.8, which is tied for sixth-most.
