Week 16 NFL Football Betting: ATS Power Rankings 1-16

16. HOUSTON TEXANS (7-7)
WEEK 15 RANK: 11

The Texans bounced back from their embarrassing Denver loss to beat Tennessee and take solid control of the AFC South. Unfortunately, they haven’t been a great bet of late. They have three covers in their last eight games.

15. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (7-6-1)
WEEK 15 RANK: 15

Seattle responded well to the Rams loss, but not quite enough to appease their bettors. Despite a 30-10 lead midway through the fourth quarter, they allowed two late touchdowns for a push. The Seahawks haven’t covered at home against their Week 16 opponent (Arizona) since 2014.

14. TENNESSEE TITANS (7-6-1)
WEEK 15 RANK: 9

Tennessee’s streak of four straight wins and covers came to an end at the hands of the Texans. That was a big blow to their playoff hopes, but they still have a shot at winning the AFC South or overtaking Pittsburgh for the sixth seed. They’re three-point home underdogs to New Orleans this week.

13. DALLAS COWBOYS (7-6)
WEEK 15 RANK: 16

The Cowboys put an end to their three-game losing streak and finally beat a team with a winning record. They’ll have what is essentially a playoff game this week in Philadelphia, where they have covered in six of their last seven.

12. DENVER BRONCOS (8-6)
WEEK 15 RANK: 6

Denver’s offense couldn’t get anything going on a snowy day in Kansas City. The good news is they’ll close the season with a couple of easy home matchups. They’ll get David Blough’s Lions this week followed by the imploding Raiders.

11. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (8-6)
WEEK 15 RANK: 12

The Vikings won by 29 as one-point favorites to give them some momentum before their big Monday night showdown with Green Bay. The Vikings don’t control their own destiny in the NFC North, but they’ll need to win this weekend to have a chance. They’ve covered three of their last 10 as underdogs in Green Bay.

10. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (8-6)
WEEK 15 RANK: 12

It took a matchup with the worst team in the league, but the Patriots finally got back in the win column. They’ll have a chance to clinch the AFC East this week when the Bills come to town. In their last 10 home matchups with the Bills, they’ve covered three times.

9. BALTIMORE RAVENS (8-6)
WEEK 15 RANK: 11

The seemingly unstoppable Ravens have now covered in seven of their last eight. This week, they’ll look to get revenge on the last team to beat them: the Browns. The Ravens are 10-point road favorites.

8. ARIZONA CARDINALS (8-5-1)
WEEK 15 RANK: 10

The Cardinals ended their three-game ATS losing streak with a 14-point win over the Browns. They’ll close the season with two division games on the road. First up is Seattle, where the Cardinals have had plenty of success over the last several seasons.

7. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (8-5-1)
WEEK 15 RANK: 3

Despite being 10.5-point favorites, the 49ers lost to the Falcons by seven. Granted, the Falcons added a meaningless touchdown on the game’s final play, but that doesn’t change the fact that they were the victims of one of the biggest upsets of the season. They’ll host the Rams on Saturday as 6.5-point favorites before what could be a winner-take-all game in Seattle.

6. LOS ANGELES RAMS (9-5)
WEEK 15 RANK: 2

It seems the Rams aren’t capable of playing in close games. In Weeks 13 and 14 they were the hammer and in Weeks 12 and 15 they were the nail. Now they’ll need to win their final two games and hope the Vikings lose both of theirs to make the playoffs. First up is the 49ers in San Francisco.

5. GREEN BAY PACKERS (9-5)
WEEK 15 RANK: 8

The Packers have alternated ATS wins and losses over the last six weeks. Week 15 was a win, so that doesn’t bode well for this week’s Monday night matchup with the Vikings. A better stat: they’ve covered 12 of their last 20 as home favorites.

4. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (9-5)
WEEK 15 RANK: 1

Pittsburgh couldn’t maintain the top spot in the rankings after the Bills put an end to their ATS win streak. If the season ended today, they’d be in the playoffs. But the Titans are hot on their trail and they still have to play the Ravens in Week 17. This week they’ll play the Jets on the road in the Le’Veon Bell Bowl.

3. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (9-5)
WEEK 15 RANK: 7

Coming off a dominant Monday night victory over the Colts, the Saints are back in the top three. They’re not covering as often as they were when Bridgewater was at quarterback, but they still have one of the highest cover rates in the league. They’ll travel to Tennessee this week as three-point favorites.

2. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9-5)
WEEK 15 RANK: 5

Kansas City’s fourth cover in a row moves them up to the second spot. Technically still alive for the top seed in the AFC, the Chiefs have a less than ideal matchup in Chicago on Sunday night. They’re 1-2 ATS against the NFC this season.

1. BUFFALO BILLS (9-4-1)
WEEK 15 RANK: 4

With a win and cover over the previous top team in the rankings, the Bills reclaim the top spot for themselves. They’re 6-0-1 ATS on the road this season and they’ll play the Patriots in Foxboro on Saturday. In their last 10 trips to New England as underdogs, the Bills are 2-8 overall but 6-3-1 ATS.
