At +275 odds, it might actually represent better value to bet on Jackson to win the MVP rather than betting on the Ravens to win the Super Bowl outright.

Just one year after losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game, the Chiefs appear to be the forgotten team in the Super Bowl conversation. While Baltimore is the favorite in the AFC while the San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints lead an absolutely loaded NFC, Kansas City shouldn’t be completely overlooked as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Patrick Mahomes is finally getting healthy in time for the playoffs and the Chiefs will certainly be motivated to prove they are the better team in a rematch with the Ravens should they meet in the AFC Championship game. If you think Kansas City has what it takes to win it all, then you might want to take a shot on Mahomes to win the MVP at +500 odds.

JIMMY GAROPPOLO, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
SUPER BOWL MVP ODDS: +800

The same rule applies to the quarterbacks for the 49ers, Packers and Saints if you think those teams have the best shot to win the Super Bowl. Garoppolo, who will lead the top-ranked team in the NFC, is listed at +800 odds to win the award. Drew Brees is also listed at +800, while Aaron Rodgers is listed at +1400 odds to win. While the strength of this San Francisco team remains its defense and rushing attack, there is no denying that Garoppolo took on a larger role in the offense over the second half of the season and put up some bigger numbers. If the 49ers are going to run the gauntlet through a loaded NFC, then Garoppolo is going to need to play at an elite level. That makes him worth a look as a potential Super Bowl MVP winner.

How easily do football fans forget about what the Patriots have done in recent years? New England has been to three straight Super Bowls, including two wins. With six Super Bowl rings, it should be impossible to overlook what Brady and the Patriots are capable of accomplishing as the No. 3 seed in the AFC. While the potential path to a Super Bowl has become a lot tougher, that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Brady has heard a lot of noise about how bad he has looked at times this year and how he is done in the NFL. That should only serve as motivation for a team that has been disrespected all season.
