The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics are going to engage in Game 4 tonight of their Eastern Conference Final but it’s unclear who’ll play. The Heat have all sorts of question marks starting with Jimmy Butler, who missed the second half of Game 3.
By all accounts, Butler is going to play tonight, though. However, Kyle Lowry and Tyler Herro are questionable. As for the Celtics, guard Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum are questionable but Tatum looks like he’ll play.

The New York Mets got some bad news on Thursday when they found out that star pitcher Max Scherzer will miss the next six-to-eight weeks. He’s going to be sidelined with an oblique strain that needs plenty of rest and recovery.

11:09 PM PACIFIC: BILLS STILL FAVORED TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL
There has been a lot of offseason movement and the NFL Draft is behind us, but not much has changed (recently) in terms of the NFL futures. The Buffalo Bills are favored to win it all at +650 as they had been.
The Kansas City Chiefs have slipped in the offseason as trades like the one of Tyreek Hill and seeing a number of other AFC West teams make big moves have hurt their chances. The Bucs have shot up the board the most as the return of Tom Brady has vaulted them back among the favorites.

6:13 PM PACIFIC: HOPKINS SUSPENDED FOR SIX GAMES
The Arizona Cardinals are going to be without one of their best weapons to start the 2022 campaign as wideout DeAndre Hopkins has been suspended for six games. The news came as a surprise to many as there had been no indication of problems.
What’s interesting is that Hopkins was popped for performance-enhancing drugs. It’s unclear if he was taking something significant or if it was a misunderstanding of some sort. As a result, expect this to impact the Cards lines weekly and for futures.

3:51 PM PACIFIC: CELTICS AIM TO EVEN UP SECOND-ROUND SERIES
The Boston Celtics were upset by the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal. The Celtics were favored in Game 1 but struggled and ended up suffering their first defeat of the playoffs.
The Celtics need to pick up a win here to even up the series because if they head back to Milwaukee trailing 0-2, the series could very well be over. Look for Boston to be very focused tonight. However, keep in mind guard Marcus Smart is out.

12:12 PM PACIFIC: SAROS OUT AS PREDS VISIT AVALANCHE
The Nashville Predators are the biggest underdog of any team in the first round of the playoffs and their task of upsetting the Colorado Avalanche just got harder. Starting goaltender Juuse Saros is going to miss at least the first two games.
The drop-off to backup David Rittich could be huge as he was just 6-3-4 on the year with a 3.57 GAA and a shaky .886 save percentage. We’ll see if he’s able to hold the fort or if the Avs will blow the doors off the barn tonight.

9:01 AM PACIFIC: ROSS SIGNS WITH CHIEFS
The Kansas City Chiefs traded away Tyreek Hill in the offseason but have reloaded at the position with a few players that they hope can replace him. That includes the signing of Juju Smith-Schuster as well as the drafting of Skyy Moore.
After the draft came to an end, the Chiefs ended up signing former Clemson Tigers wideout Justyn Ross as an undrafted free agent. A spinal injury hampered his 2020 season but if he can get back to how he was early in his career, he might be a steal.

The Chicago White Sox will host the Los Angeles Angels in some afternoon baseball on Monday afternoon. The White Sox have been fairly disappointing to start the year as the team is just 8-13 so far.
The White Sox will send Dylan Cease to the mound and he’s been one of their better starters. He should have an easier time of things as Anthony Rendon and Shohei Ohtani will not be in the lineup today for the Angels.

The NHL playoffs get started on Monday and we’re going to have a number of intriguing series. The first game on the board will be the Carolina Hurricanes hosting the Boston Bruins – a team they dominated in the regular season.
The Hurricanes dominated the Bruins in the regular season. Not only did they sweep the season series 3-0, they outscored the Bruins 16-1 in those contests. However, starting goaltender Frederik Andersen will not play in Game 1, so that could help the Bruins.

The Philadelphia 76ers are going to be in tough in the second round as they might not have the services of star center and MVP Joel Embiid. We know that he’s out indefinitely but we now have some type of timeframe to work with.
Embiid is for sure going to miss Games 1 and 2, which means the 76ers could find themselves in an early hole. On the flip side, it does look like the Miami Heat will be without a key cog as Kyle Lowry looks doubtful for Game 1.

The Memphis Grizzlies had a tougher-than-expected series in the first round as the Minnesota Timberwolves pushed them to six games. The Grizzlies had to dig out of several double-digit, fourth-quarter deficits.
Now they’ll host the Golden State Warriors in Round 2, who took care of the Denver Nuggets in five games. The Warriors are a road favorite in Game 1 and are favored on the series even though the Grizzlies are the higher seed.

9:01 AM PACIFIC: BUCKS, CELTICS GET THEIR SERIES STARTED
The Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics will get their second-round series started on Sunday afternoon as the two sides look to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Both had a relatively easy time of things in Round 1.
The Bucks are the defending champs here but still find themselves as an underdog in Game 1 and the series. They’re without Khris Middleton in this spot, so we’ll have to see how they fare without one of their Big Three.
