The Ultimate Fighting Championship is headed back overseas to Copenhagen, Denmark and the Royal Arena for UFC Fight Night 160 this Saturday. It will mark the promotion’s first event in Denmark. While the card isn’t exactly loaded with elite talents, that doesn’t mean there won’t be an ample opportunity to make some serious cash picking winners. We took the time to break down which teams the smart money is on for Saturday’s fight card. Here is a look at the three best bets for UFC Fight Night 160.
MARK MADSEN (8-0) VS. DANILO BELLUARDO (12-4)
ODDS: MADSEN -600
The co-main event of the night is a matchup that offers some intrigue from a betting perspective. Madsen will be looking to stay undefeated as he takes on Belluardo in a lightweight bout.
Madsen has won eight straight fights to open his career, including five finishes. Now he gets the opportunity to continue that hot streak against a fighter that doesn’t have the same level of experience or quality in Belluardo, who is coming off a second-round TKO loss to Joel Alvarez in his UFC debut. Madsen isn’t elite by any means but he does have the talent and punching power to make quick work of this fight.
You’ll have to lay a lot of juice here as Madsen should be close to a lock to take out Belluardo in this main event fight. However, if you want to improve the payout, you might want to take bet this fight not to go the distance. Madsen should make quick work of him.
PICK: MADSEN OR FIGHT WILL NOT GO THE DISTANCE
ALEN AMEDOVSKI (8-1) VS. JOHN PHILLIPS (21-9)
ODDS: AMEDOVSKI -117
Phillips earned his shot in the UFC with a stretch in which he went 6-1 on the British Circuit. However, his skill set has failed to translate since joining the UFC, as he has dropped three straight fights to Charles Byrd, Kevin Holland and then Jack Marshman. It won’t get any easier for Phillips this time around as he takes on Amedovski. The former Bellator man is 8-1, with each of his last two wins coming via knockout in a combined 2:01 of time inside the cage. Amedovski has the faster hands, incredible punching power and he ability to grapple well enough to keep Phillips at bay.
PICK: AMEDOVSKI
MACY CHIASSON (5-0) VS. LINA LANSBERG (9-4)
ODDS: CHIASSON -410
Chiasson might not be competing on the main card of a UFC event just yet but it should only be a matter of time before that happens. A rising star in the women’s bantamweight division, Chiasson logged first-round finishes over Larissa Pacheco and Leah Letson to earn her spot on this undercard. Now Chiasson gets an excellent opportunity to pick up another victory against Lansberg, who is coming off a TKO loss to Cris Cyborg. Chiasson is ready for the spotlight and with both the height and reach advantage, as well as her incredible striking ability, she should be a lock to beat Lansberg in this women’s bantamweight bout at UFC Fight Night 160.
PICK: CHIASSON
