UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall Parlay

Two of the top heavyweights in the UFC will square off in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall this weekend. Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall are both looking to challenge Francis Ngannou for the UFC Heavyweight Championship, and the winner of this match could face Ngannou with the title on the line in the coming months. Aspinall is a slight favorite by the UFC betting odds in this fight, as he has yet to lose in the UFC, but Blaydes has a lot more experience against elite opponents.

UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall will be held at The O2 Arena in London, England, on Saturday, July 23, 2022. The prelims will start at 12 p.m. ET and the main event is going to get underway at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall Picks

Tom Aspinall to Win Inside Distance +105 vs. Curtis Blaydes

It’s been over six years since Tom Aspinall last lost a fight, and that defeat was a DQ after he struck a downed opponent. He is 5-0 since joining the UFC in mid-2020, and Aspinall has claimed four Performance of the Night bonuses. All of Aspinall’s fights have been decided in the first two rounds, so it’s unlikely this fight will go the distance.

Curtis Blaydes has been very close to the mountaintop. He has come close to challenging for the UFC Heavyweight Championship a few times, but he has come up short in contenders fights. Blaydes has lost to Francis Ngannou twice and fell to Derrick Lewis last year, yet he has beaten every other fighter he has faced since joining the UFC.

If this fight goes the distance, it means that Blaydes is the likely winner. He likes to take down opponents and smother them, while Aspinall goes for knockouts and early wins. Aspinall has been impressive enough that he is worth taking at +odds to win inside the distance.

Jack Hermansson and Chris Curtis to Go the Distance +110

It’s tough to pick a winner for this fight, and the oddsmakers believe that too. Chris Curtis is replacing Darren Till on short notice, and this bout is essentially seen as a toss-up. Curtis won a unanimous decision victory over Rodolfo Vieira last month, but 16 of his 29 career victories have come by knockout.

Hermansson has had his last three fights decided by decision, and his last match was a split decision loss to Sean Strickland in February. He is comfortable letting judges decide the matter, and that bodes well for a full 15 minutes as Curtis probably won’t have the same stamina that he would on regular rest.

Molly McCann -450 vs. Hannah Goldy

Since coming to the UFC, Hannah Goldy has struggled to make her mark. She lost unanimous decision fights to Miranda Granger and Diana Belbita before finally scoring her first victory last year with a submission of Emily Whitmire. The win over Whitmire isn’t much to hang her hat on though as Whitmire is 4-5 in her professional MMA career.

That’s why Molly McCann is a heavy favorite on Saturday night in London. McCann is a UFC veteran that has a lot of seasoning. She has won five of her last seven fights, and one of those losses came to recent UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship title challenger Taila Santos.
