UFC on ESPN: Font vs. Vera Parlay

Everyone is getting excited for UFC 274 next weekend, but there is one more promotion before that card. This week’s event will feature Rob Font and Marlon Vera trading blows in a bout between two of the best bantamweights in the world. Font is currently No. 5 in the rankings, but he is only a slight favorite by the UFC betting odds over No. 8 Vera on Saturday night.

UFC on ESPN: Font vs. Vera will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada. The prelims will kick off at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+, and the main card will get underway at 7 p.m. ET. The main card will only be available on ESPN+.

Under 4.5 Rounds at +130 in Marlon Vera vs. Rob Font

Former CES Featherweight champion Rob Font joined the UFC almost eight years ago. Font is 9-4 in the UFC, and he has won six of those fights inside the distance. He is just 3-3 in fights that are decided by the judges though, so there are concerns about what he can do if he can’t punish his opponent. That’s part of the reason why Font has yet to earn a title shot in this promotion.

Marlon Vera has been in the UFC nearly as long as Font. Vera has yet to receive a title shot either, as he was a middling fighter early on with a 4-4 record in his first eight fights. We have seen him turn a corner recently though as his only losses over the last four years have been to former champion Jose Aldo and Song Yadong. All of Vera’s losses have come by decision, so he will also look to finish his opponent within the distance.

Andrei Arlovski by Points +125 vs. Jake Collier

Veteran Andrei Arlovski will look to add one more win to his UFC record on Saturday night. Arlovski has 22 wins as a heavyweight in the UFC, and his first victory came all the way back at UFC 28 in November 2000. His best days are behind him, but he is a competent gatekeeper at 43 years old and knows how to do enough to win on the cards. Arlovski’s last nine wins have all come by decision.

Jake Collier is nicknamed The Prototype, but he has done nothing but alternate losses and wins since joining the UFC seven years ago. Collier hasn’t been too impressive, and this is the kind of fighter that Arlovski usually controls in the Octagon for the duration. That makes Arlovski by points a very good bet.

Andre Fili -220 vs. Joanderson Brito

It’s been a rough go recently for Andre Fili. He has just one win in his last four fights, but this is a match where he can get back on track. Joanderson Brito lost his UFC debut in January, and he has yet to prove he has what it takes to hang in this promotion.
