Victor Wembanyama Leads NBA DPOY Odds Once Again for 2025-26 Season

While there have been some jaw-dropping defensive plays during Summer League, in large part, there isn’t a lot of defense being played in Vegas.

No rookie has ever taken home NBA Defensive Player of the Year honors, and we certainly don’t expect that to happen for the 2025-26 season. 

Victor Wembanyama came very close his rookie campaign, finishing second, and he was a massive favorite for DPOY last season before his blood clot.

Wemby is back in the favorite position for the 2025-26 season. In fact, for the second straight year he’s the odds-on favorite, with the next-closest competitor (Chet Holmgren) listed at 8/1.
