2022 PAC 12 Tournament Betting Odds

There is a clear stratification of teams in the PAC 12. Arizona is the cream of the conference, and the Wildcats are currently an odds-on favorite to claim the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. UCLA and USC will also be heading to March Madness after putting together solid regular seasons, but every other team is going to have to shine over the next few days in order to make it to the Big Dance. Teams like Oregon, Colorado, and Washington State will at least have to make the Pac 12 Championship Game in order to merit consideration by the Selection Committee.

The 2022 PAC 12 Tournament will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada from March 9-12. We’ve seen dark horses win the last two PAC 12 conference tournaments, as Oregon State won the automatic bid as a No. 5 seed last year and Oregon won the conference as a No. 6 seed in 2019.

The last few years have been rocky for the Arizona Wildcats. This program was plagued by scandal during Sean Miller’s last three seasons in charge, leading to Arizona missing out on the NCAA Tournament. Arizona could be primed for its deepest run in the NCAA Tournament in two decades though, and the Wildcats are deserved favorites to win their eighth PAC 12 Tournament.

Bennedict Mathurin has been one of the top players in the country. Mathurin is one of the Wooden Award contenders, averaging 17.3 PPG and 5.7 RPG for the No. 2 team in the nation. He is the most consistent perimeter shooter on the Wildcats, and he gives this offense a needed shot creator. The frontcourt of Azuolas Tubelis and Christian Koloko is one of the scariest in the country too, as the tandem averages 26.5 PPG and 13.3 RPG.

UCLA has the best chance to knock off Arizona. The Bruins were one of just three teams to beat the Wildcats in the regular season, thumping the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament by 16 points at Pauley Pavilion in late January. This is a gritty UCLA team under head coach Mick Cronin, and the Bruins are pretty well-rounded. They rank 15th in offensive efficiency and 11th in defensive efficiency according to Ken Pomeroy, and they don’t turn the ball over on offense. Johnny Juzang and Jaime Jaquez can score buckets too.

Although USC is the No. 3 seed in the PAC 12 Tournament, there isn’t a lot to like about the Trojans. Andy Enfield was able to take USC to the Elite Eight last season, but standout Evan Mobley left for the NBA at the end of the season. Mobley’s older brother Isaiah is now the best player on the Trojans, yet he isn’t as talented as his younger brother. USC lost both of its games to Arizona this season, and this offense is somewhat limited.
