Target These Prop Plays Between Longhorns and Wolverines

It’s the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines, albeit without many of their key

players from last season, hosting the number 3 Texas Longhorns. Some are calling it the most

important game of week two thanks to the ripple effect that the result of this match-up will have

on the college football playoffs down the line. But that’s future reader’s problem, right now let’s

take a look at a few key prop plays in this week two tilt.

Texas

Quinn Ewers: Over 240.5 Passing Yards (-112)

Quarterback Quinn Ewers routinely threw for over 240 yards per game last year, failing to hit the

mark just three times last regular season and playoffs combined. To open the season, the

Longhorns made a statement against Colorado State with a 52-0 victory as Ewers hit 260 yards

in the air. Now, add in the fact that Michigan just allowed Fresno State to throw for 235 yards

last week against them and we should see Ewers take advantage of the Wolverines defense.

Isaiah Bond: Under 52.5 Receiving Yards (-117)

It’s round two between Michigan cornerback Will Johnson and Texas Wide Receiver Isaiah

Bond who previously met in last year’s Rose Bowl when Bond was with Alabama. Bond was

held to just 47 yards on 4 catches with 0 touchdowns. Add in the fact that six Longhorns had

over 30 receiving yards, it shows that Ewers likes to spread the love and isn’t stuck on one

target.

Michigan

Colston Loveland: At Least 41 Receiving Yards

With four touchdowns and 649 yards on 45 catches, Colston Loveland was second on the team

last year in receiving. The tight end is made for the big matchups, putting up over 60 yards

against teams like Washington and Ohio State last year. He’s already picked up where he left off

in 2023, scoring once and putting up 87 yards in week one.

Donovan Edwards: Under 53.5 Rushing Yards

He may have entered the season as the presumptive starter in the running back position but

things have changed after week one for Donovan Edwards. The senior struggled early on, just

as he did last season, and Kalel Mullings started getting more and more touches as the game

went on. For Edwards, he finished with a paltry 27 yards on 11 carries averaging just 2.5 yards

per carry. Expect Mullings to receive the bulk of responsibility out of the backfield.
