There was plenty of hype surrounding Russell Wilson’s move to the Denver Broncos to go along with Aaron Rodgers’ favorite coach, Nathaniel Hackett, last season. Two months into the season, that hype had been replaced with hopelessness.
The Broncos opened the year 2-5 and Wilson struggled to connect with his team, his receivers and with the scoreboard all season. A TikToker famously chronicled Wilson’s TD passes vs the number of bathrooms in his house, a number Wilson only surpassed very late in the 2022 campaign.

Team Wins: Over 8.5 (+100), Under 8.5 (-130)
There may be no team in the NFL tougher to predict this season than the Denver Broncos. Sean Payton is, unquestionably, the best coaching hire from any team of the offseason. The questions come from what he inherited, specifically in quarterback Russell Wilson, who is coming off the worst season of his life.
It’s common knowledge that QBs, most of the time, go off a cliff. They get bad all at once and there’s no bouncing back. Look no further than Matt Ryan with the Indianapolis Colts a season ago. The guy was a former MVP and he was garbage almost from Day One. Hell, Peyton Manning’s final season in Denver, though it wrapped with a Super Bowl title, was awful. The safest bet here is that the Broncos will be better, but still not make the playoffs. Though a complete bounce back from Wilson, with Payton’s help, wouldn’t surprise me. He’s not old enough to be washed just yet.
2023-23 Win Prediction: 8-9
