Crazy NFL Parlay: NFL Week 16

BY ADAM GREENE

Just in time for Christmas I bring to you, once again, our Crazy NFL Parlay. It doesn’t matter that not a single one of these has paid off. The beauty of the Crazy Parlay is hope. The hope that you, in your masterful playing of the odds, can defy the gods of fortune and buy yourself a used houseboat.
These are the goodies I have for you this week. All moneyline bets.

JAGUARS + 265
TITANS +125
REDSKINS +100
JETS +153
RAIDERS +275
EAGLES +115
BEARS +225
PACKERS +195

It’s a long stack, as it usually is and we’re skipping a lot of the big plus numbers like Browns +360 because, you know, come on. We’re not just tossing our money into a woodchipper here. No, we want to turn a $5 bet into a lottery ticket and cash in, in this case your payoff would be $16,055.94. Not a bad return on your investment.

Now, as always, let’s talk ourselves into it.

If you read this week’s The FAQ, then you know a few of these upsets I like as real bets. The New York Jets can still be a dangerous team and as well as Mike Tomlin has done coaching the Pittsburgh Steelers this season, that team is coughing blood. There are only so many quarterbacks you can play before you run out of former Subway Sandwich Artists.

I asked before and will again, is there any chance that Jason Garrett has the Dallas Cowboys up and ready to play two weeks in a row? They should win. They have the talent to win. The right coaching hire could have this team in the Super Bowl next year. Garrett? He’s dying to lose this game.
The Packers are the superior team top to bottom when compared to the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikes do have a hell of a homefield advantage, but I’m looking at Green Bay as a possible NFC Super Bowl team. They won’t stumble in a game that could cost them the NFC North this late in the season.

Next, we come to the games where we really have to do some convincing. With Gardner Minshew at quarterback, you never know what Jacksonville Jaguars team will show up week-to-week, but the same could be said for the Atlanta Falcons, who may have spent up all their good karma knocking off the San Francisco 49ers last week.

I picked the New York Giants to win, thinking they would stick with Eli Manning. Turns out, the Giants had other ideas, mainly that they wanted to lose the game against the Washington Redskins and will start Daniel Jones.
The fact that the Oakland Raiders vs Los Angeles Chargers game isn’t a pick-em in the first place is a mystery to me. It could easily go either way. And, frankly, after thoroughly disappointing their remaining fans in Oakland, it would be just like the Raiders to win a game like this on the road.

Can you see the Chicago Bears defense overwhelming the Kansas City Chiefs? They did it to the Los Angeles Rams last year and these two teams have no history. The Chiefs might not know what to expect. Also, a loss here doesn’t hurt Kansas City.

Speaking of the Chiefs, the Tennessee Titans look like a longshot against the New Orleans Saints, but they beat the Kansas City this year. With their playoff backs against the wall and the Houston Texans clinching the AFC South Saturday, they could find some magic here.

So there you have it. A perfect storm that helps you open the Penny Saver and pick out that used Catamaran Cruiser you’ve always wanted to drain a six pack of Coors Light upon. Dream big, you shining diamond!
