Jason Garrett Best Odds To Be Fired

Now that Black Monday is just a few days away, coach firing speculation is at its peak. Here are the current odds available for coaches likely to be fired, from the biggest underdog to the biggest favorite.

5. WILL DAN QUINN GET FIRED BY WEEK 1 2020?

YES +200
NO -300

Quinn would have been near the top of the list at midseason, but Atlanta’s turnaround could be changing minds. They’re 5-2 since the bye week and had two of the biggest upsets of the season (at New Orleans, at San Francisco).

As a former NFC Champion who nearly won the Super Bowl, it would be difficult to find a head coach with better credentials than Quinn. The odds indicate he’ll get another season to return the Falcons to their former glory.

T-3. WILL ANTHONY LYNN GET FIRED BY WEEK 1 2020?

YES -150
NO +110

Lynn has two winning seasons and a winning record overall (26-21). But in the “what have you done for me lately?” department, Lynn is not doing well. The Chargers have underachieved, going 5-10 with last place in the AFC West locked up. Nine of their losses were by seven points or fewer, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. They also had a ton of injuries.

Still, it’s a bottom-line industry and the Chargers were one of the most disappointing teams in the league.

T-3. WILL FREDDIE KITCHENS GET FIRED BY WEEK 1 2020?

YES -150
NO +110

In the preseason, oddsmakers set Cleveland’s win total at nine. Not only will they not come close to getting that, but the Browns’ season has been the sort of the circus to which the franchise has become accustomed. Baker Mayfield regressed, Odell Beckham was misused and unhappy and Myles Garrett tried to beat someone with a helmet during a game. These typically aren’t the sort of distractions the coach of a bad team can survive.

Still, this is only Kitchens’ first season. Cleveland’s ownership could very well give him another chance.

2. WILL PAT SHURMUR GET FIRED BY WEEK 1 2020?

YES -175
NO +135

Shurmur is 9-22 with the Giants and 19-45 as a head coach. There isn’t much to suggest he’s the one to get New York back in the Super Bowl.

The case for keeping him is continuity. Since Tom Coughlin’s departure after the 2015 season, the Giants have already had two coaches. Considering Coughlin held the job for 12 seasons, that’s not ideal. The thought of three coaches in five years could convince the Giants to keep Shurmur around.

1. WILL JASON GARRETT BE THE HEAD COACH OF THE COWBOYS WEEK 1 2020?

YES +300
NO -500

The Cowboys, in all likelihood, will fail to win what is the weakest division in the league. Jason Garrett’s team is loaded with talent, but they continue to underachieve. He is routinely mocked by fans and media alike. His owner isn’t standing up for him. He started coaching the team in 2010 and his highlights include three playoff trips that ended in the Divisional round.

Yes, it would certainly be a surprise if the Cowboys bring Garrett back.
