NFL Football Betting: Thursday Night Football Props Take 2

There is a world where both the Rams and Seahawks are 4-0 entering this contest, but both fell short as home favorites. For Seattle, Chris Carson’s miscues and a special teams touchdown cost them dearly against Teddy Bridgewater’s Saints. The Rams didn’t bring their defense against Tampa but were still in position to tie the game late in the fourth quarter.

Even so, both teams are in the top 10 of most power rankings. The Rams have won three straight in the series and three of the last four in Seattle, but the Seahawks are 17-2 at home in prime time and 8-1 on Thursday night since Pete Carroll took over in 2010. If that’s not reason enough to watch, here are a few of our favorite props to consider.

BRANDIN COOKS SCORES A TOUCHDOWN (+150)

Cooks has started and finished two games against the Seahawks in his career and he scored in both of them. Cooper Kupp has been the Rams’ best receiver this season, but he’s averaging 48.5 yards per game and scored once in four games against the Seahawks. Cooks is the best bet to score of LA’s receivers.

RUSSELL WILSON HAS 3 TOUCHDOWNS OR MORE (+150)

Wilson tied for third in passing touchdowns last season even though he ranked 21st in passing attempts. He threw for three touchdowns in each game against the Rams last season and has done it in three of the last five games in the series. Wilson has thrown for three scores twice in eight tries on Thursday nights.

TODD GURLEY 108 RUSHING YARDS OR MORE (+326)

Gurley voiced displeasure about Thursday night games earlier this week, but he did eclipse 108 yards on a Thursday back in 2017. He also did so in two of his last four games against the Seahawks. The third-best rushing game of his career came in Seattle.

There’s obviously a big risk here due to the way Gurley is being used. But the Rams said all summer that they would use him in the most important spots. This game is going to be one of the most important on their schedule. These are decent odds to project Gurley’s best game of the season.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE OVER 24.5 (+351)

When these teams met last season, the final scores were 33-31 and 36-31. Both teams have a top 10 scoring offense, so we could have another shootout on our hands. The Rams scored 31 points in three of their last four Thursday night games. The Seahawks broke 20 in each of their last four Thursday night games and scored 27 against Green Bay last season. 

DK METCALF OVER 125 YARDS (+2270)

Our longshot play is the DK Metcalf breakout game. Marcus Peters has a history of getting roasted for big plays and, according to PFF, Aqib Talib is having the worst season of his career by far. Metcalf has shown to be a legitimate deep threat in limited opportunities. Also, the Rams just got smoked by Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Lockett is more likely to eclipse 125 yards and that’s a decent bet if you want it (+425). Still, at +2270, Metcalf is the more enticing bet.
