NFL MVP Award Betting Preview

Every season there are a few players that etch their names into the conversation for Most Valuable Player. Aaron Rodgers was able to walk away with the hardware after a fantastic season which saw him lead the Green Bay Packers to the conference championship game, where they lost to the eventual champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This year, a new group of players are expected to compete for the trophy. Though you can never count out any of those aging veterans such as Rodgers. Here, we will be taking a look at the early favorites to win the MVP Award.

Patrick Mahomes

It is no surprise here that Patrick Mahomes is the early favorite to win another MVP award. He has been nearly unstoppable ever since he took over the starting quarterback job for the Kansas City Chiefs a few years back. Not only will he be able to dominate in the team success category once again, but he will also be able to stuff the stat sheet unlike any other quarterback. In three years with the Chiefs, Mahomes has thrown for 14,152 yards and 114 touchdown passes.

Josh Allen

Josh Allen was good enough to get his name thrown around the MVP conversation last year and chances are he will be able to come back with another strong year. Allen took a massive leap during the 2020 NFL season, throwing for 4,544 yards, 37 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions while leading the Buffalo Bills to a 13-3 record. He has always been a great running quarterback, but last season proved that he is starting to develop in the passing game. If Allen is able to post similar numbers as last year and lead his team to a top record in the conference, we could easily see him walk away with this award.

Tom Brady

Many people always have their doubts on Tom Brady towards the beginning of each season, though at the end everybody is always proven wrong. Last year was no exception as Brady overcame his expectations and led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl win. Brady had his fair share of struggles during the regular season but had quite a few explosive performances and the stats to back up his case for the award last year. Even though he wasn’t able to win it, Brady has all the weapons in the world and a ton of momentum after winning the big game. Without a doubt you can expect Brady to be searching for another MVP before he officially calls it a career.

Aaron Rodgers

The reigning champion of this award is already looking like a solid bet to win once again this season. Aaron Rodgers led the league in multiple categories last year, with a 71-completion percentage and a ridiculous 48 touchdown passes to just five interceptions. As of right now, Rodgers future with the Packers is a little unknown. Their management hopes to fix the relationship with their star quarterback while he was spoken about playing elsewhere. Regardless, if Rodgers suits up for the entire upcoming season, we should be in for quite the performance, a year that could net him his second consecutive MVP trophy.
