BY ADAM GREENE
We continue on with our final installment of the NFL Power Rankings.
14. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (8-7)
It looks like Mike Tomlin has finally run out of quarterbacks.
Last week: 13
15. DALLAS COWBOYS (7-8)
A win and an Eagles loss and you’re still in, Cowboys, which would really be the worst possible thing to happen at this point.
Last week: 14
16. CHICAGO BEARS (7-8)
I know this feels like a let down season, but last year was an overachievement. This is more of what was expected and there was some solid growth in 2019. You’ll be significantly better in 2020.
Last week: 16
17. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (7-8)
This is a deep class at quarterback, Bucs. Let Bruce Arians pick the one he likes that falls to him and push Jameis Winston out onto the ice flow.
Last week: 17
18. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (7-8)
I don’t know if it’s good or bad that Jim Irsay has finally given up on Andrew Luck returning. I do know it means they’re drafting a quarterback.
Last week: 20
19. ATLANTA FALCONS (6-9)
If only the Falcons could have played this well when it actually mattered.
Last week: 18
20. DENVER BRONCOS (6-9)
I legitimately expected more out of this Broncos team this season. I might have just been a year too early.
Last week: 24
21. ARIZONA CARDINALS (6-9)
I’m telling you, hate on Adam Gase all you want. I think these Jets are as good as they could be with anybody at the helm. Give him another year.
Last week: 27
22. OAKLAND RAIDERS (7-8)
Las Vegas, are you sure you want these guys?
Last week: 22
23. ARIZONA CARDINALS (5-9-1)
The win over the Seahawks was the biggest of Kliff Kingsbury’s young career and shows this team might not be as far away as we all think.
Last week: 23
24. CLEVELAND BROWNS (6-9)
Now that the Bengals have the No. 1 pick locked up, I’ve never been more comfortable picking against the Browns. Let’s end this Freddie Kitchens farce.
Last week: 19
25. NEW YORK GIANTS (4-11)
Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley both played solid games against a bad Redskins team, doing just enough to knock themselves out of picking the draft’s best pass rusher in April.
Last week: 29
26. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (5-9)
Usually, when an NFL head coach is performing as terribly as the Chargers’ Anthony Lynn, there’s some kind of rumblings that he’s on the hot seat. That he could, or should get fired. The fact that there seems to be none is an indictment of this franchise from the top down. Or maybe it’s just that no one, even in the media, cares.
Last week 28
27. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (5-10)
One game to go until you can start it all over again, Jaguars. You’ll fix it this time, right? Right?
Last week: 21
28. CAROLINA PANTHERS (5-10)
I don’t think anyone is happier that you fired Ron Rivera a few weeks ago than Ron Rivera.
Last week: 26
29. WASHINGTON REDSKINS (3-12)
As rumors go, nothing would please me more than to see Urban Meyer flame out as an NFL head coach in Washington.
Last week: 25
30. MIAMI DOLPHINS (4-11)
Leave it to the Dolphins to try to tank before the season and still manage to win enough games to knock themselves out of a Top Four pick.
Last week: 30
31. DETROIT LIONS (3-11-1)
Speaking of tanking, the Lions didn’t do this on purpose. Unless you count keeping Matt Patricia. In which case, they’ll be right back here again next season.
Last week: 32
32. CINCINNATI BENGALS (1-14)
Enjoy this, Bengals. You’ve secured the top pick in the draft and can go ahead and hand an embarrassing beat down to the Browns without doing a thing to change it. Take the victory lap here. You’ve earned it.
Last week: 31
