NFL Week 15 Tweet Storm Recap

Every Sunday morning, the NFL’s national reporters unload injury news and other tidbits to inform our gambling decisions. Here are some of the top news items and what they mean.

PLAYERS RULED OUT

Mike Evans and Rashaad Penny both suffered season-ending injuries in Week 14. However, Evans is still not on IR, so maybe there’s a small chance we see him again.

Eli Manning will get at least one more start for the Giants, but he’ll be without his top tight end.

With Jordan Howard missing another game, the Eagles could give Boston Scott a long look.

It appears the dream of seeing A.J. Green this season is all but dead.

WILL FULLER (HOU) SET TO RETURN

Fuller is a difference-maker when he’s on the field. If he’s healthy, the Texans have a much better shot of locking down first place in the AFC South. The problem is Fuller could limp off at any time.

DERRICK HENRY (TEN) GOOD TO GO

Henry didn’t practice this week, which for most players would mean an inactive designation. But Tennessee’s game this week is about as close to a playoff game as it could be without actually being one, so Henry will give it a shot.

JAMES CONNER (PIT) TO MAKE LONG-AWAITED RETURN

Conner’s injury came all the way back in Week 8. He tried to make a return in Week 11 but ended up on the shelf for another three weeks. Hopefully this time he’s fully healthy. Pittsburgh will need him in a game that could end up being an elimination game.

NOAH FANT (DEN) WILL PLAY

Fant will help Drew Lock on his quest to start his career with three wins. Despite leaving early with an injury, he was one of the most productive tight ends of Week 14.

BO SCARBROUGH (DET) A GAME-TIME DECISION.

Promoting a running back from the practice squad is obviously not a good sign for Scarbrough. The Lions have shuffled running backs all season, so it wouldn’t be a shock if they did it again.

JULIAN EDELMAN (NE) NOT IN THE CLEAR

Much has been made of Tom Brady’s lack of weapons. Without Edelman, things would be much more difficult. Of course, the Patriots play the 1-12 Bengals today, so maybe they don’t need Edelman.

JOSH JACOBS (OAK) EXPECTED TO RETURN

Jacobs missed Week 14 and that is apparently the only game his injured shoulder will cost him. It’s a big day for the Raiders, who will be playing their final game in Oakland. It could be an equally big day for Jacobs, who faces a Jacksonville defense that has seen five running backs go over 100 rushing yards in their last five games.

FRANK CLARK (KC) SHOULD PLAY

Clark played through sickness in Week 14 and it appears he still isn’t fully healthy. He’s second on the team in sacks, so his presence should help.
