SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WEEK 12: BALTIMORE RAVENS AT LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

BY ADAM GREENE

You know what, I could make fun of half this matchup, but I’m not. There’s a good chance this could be the last we’ll see of Brandon Staley as an NFL head coach so we might as well make the most of it as the Baltimore Ravens travel to SoCal to take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football.

This is just the 15th all time meeting between the two franchises. Baltimore holds an 8-6 advantage and won their last meeting on Oct, 17, 2021, 34-6. Lamar Jackson was 19 of 27 passing for 167 yards, one touchdown and two picks in the win. He rushed eight times for 51 yards. Devonta Freeman (who is no longer in the NFL), carried the ball nine times for 53 yards and a TD. Mark Andrews (who is currently on IR) hauled in five passes for 68 yards and a score.

In the loss, Jusitn Herbert was 22 of 39 passing for 195 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Herbert led the team with 12 yards on the ground, so, uh, no shock that they lost. Keenan Allen caught five passes for 50 yards.

Location: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, Calif.

Broadcast: NBC

Kickoff: Nov. 26, 8:20 p.m.

BALTIMORE RAVENS (8-3)

The Ravens bounced back from a last second loss to the Cleveland Browns with a 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals that saw the end of Joe Burrow’s season. Lamar Jackson was 16 of 26 passing for 264 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the win. He rushed nine times for 54 yards and was sacked three times. Gus Edwards had 12 carries for 62 yards and two scores. Odell Beckham, Jr. caught four passes for 116 yards. Nelson Agholor had one 37-yard touchdown grab. Rashod Bateman had a 10-yard TD catch. The defense sacked Bengals’ QBs five times and picked them off twice.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (4-6)

Los Angeles dropped their second straight game to a contender and got the requisite whiny Brandon Staley press conference that followed. The Chargers went into Lambeau Field with a far superior team at every level than the Green Bay Packers, but still fell 23-20. Justin Herbert was 21 of 36 passing for 260 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the loss. He led the team rushing with eight carries for 73 yards and was sacked twice. Keenan Allen caught 10 passes for 116 yards and a score. The defense held the Pack to just 102 yards on the ground and sacked Jordan Love three times.

THE PICK

There’s no reason to overthink this. Brandon Staley is walking the Green Mile and all Baltimore will be doing here is clearing the path for his exit. The only question for Staley and LA is how comically it’ll all go down. Ravens 31, Chargers 20
