This is only Tampa Bay’s second Super Bowl appearance, and the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl XXXVII win will certainly be referenced by Tony Romo and Jim Nantz. There will likely be a little 10 or 15 second video montage featuring some of the moments from that game, and a clip of Gruden feels natural considering he has maintained a strong NFL presence over the last two decades.

If Gruden were still in the broadcast booth or working for ESPN, it is less likely he would be shown considering the network rivalries that are in place. However, Gruden’s now coaching the Las Vegas Raiders, so there are no real conflicts of interest there.

While the broadcast is going to make an effort not to harp on the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick dynamic, New England’s head coach has to be mentioned at least once. Belichick and Brady won six Super Bowls together during their two decades together with the Patriots, and that has to be referenced at the bare minimum.

Think about all the potential times Belichick might be mentioned as an aside. Nantz and Romo will make a point not to push that specific narrative too much as it’s been done to death in the media, but it’s also right there and easy to fall back on if there is a lull in the action.

The wording is key to this prop. The green info icon beside the prop mentions that either spread or total must be said by someone on the broadcast, and that’s unlikely to happen. Although there has been a lot of progress in acceptance of sports betting among members of the media over the last few years, most announcers still refrain from making blatant references. Instead, you will hear people like Al Michaels make allusions to the spread or total without specifically mentioning either term.

A younger announcer might make an overt reference, but Nantz is a veteran that has been doing this forever. He has never been known as being betting friendly unlike Michaels or Brent Musberger, so the ‘No’ option is the play despite the heavy chalk.

Both teams have aggressive defensive coordinators, and both Brady and Patrick Mahomes will be under pressure.
