16. HOUSTON TEXANS (7-7-1)
WEEK 16 RANK: 16
The Texans have been a terrible ATS bet as favorites this year (1-5-1). With nothing to play for, they’re 3.5-point home underdogs against Tennessee this week.
15. MIAMI DOLPHINS (8-7)
WEEK 16 RANK: 18
The Dolphins may have won their way out of the first pick in the draft, but the way they turned things around should be good for their team’s overall culture. They’re 8-3 ATS since Week 6.
14. DALLAS COWBOYS (8-7)
WEEK 16 RANK: 3
Dallas will need a win and a Philadelphia loss to back into the playoffs as 8-8 division champions. They have one cover in their last five games.
13. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (7-6-2)
WEEK 16 RANK: 17
The Colts ended their three-game ATS losing streak with a dominant win over the Panthers. It’s been a disappointing end to the season for a team that once led the AFC South.
12. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (8-7)
WEEK 16 RANK: 11
The Vikings are still in the playoffs, but they’re locked into the sixth seed. An unenviable spot considering how top-heavy the NFC is. They’ll play the Bears this week, who they previously lost to by 10 as one-point favorites.
11. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (8-6-1)
WEEK 16 RANK: 10
After a push against Buffalo, the Patriots have covered once in their last five games. They’ll host Miami as 15.5-point favorites this week, which is the first time they’ve been favored by two touchdowns since Week 6.
10. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (8-6)
WEEK 16 RANK: 7
San Francisco bounced back from the Atlanta loss with a victory (but not an easy one) beating the Rams by three as seven-point favorites. They’ll travel to Seattle as three-point favorites with the NFC West title on the line.
9. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (9-6)
WEEK 16 RANK: 4
The surprising Steelers have lost two in a row and are in danger of missing the playoffs. A trip to Baltimore would normally be a bad thing, but the Ravens have locked up the top seed in the AFC and are sitting their starters. Pittsburgh is favored by 2.5.
8. DENVER BRONCOS (9-6)
WEEK 16 RANK: 12
Denver has nothing to play for in Week 17 other than putting an end to Oakland’s convoluted playoff scenario. They’re 3.5-point favorites at home and are 2-1 ATS as home favorites this season.
7. BALTIMORE RAVENS (9-6)
WEEK 16 RANK: 9
The Ravens are underdogs for the first time in nearly two months, but only because they’re resting all of their starters with the AFC’s top seed locked up. If you believe in the Baltimore backups, they’re getting 2.5 points at home against Pittsburgh.
6. ARIZONA CARDINALS (9-5-1)
WEEK 16 RANK: 8
The Cardinals have only been favored one time this season, which could explain why their ATS record is so good. Though their first four wins were also as underdogs, none of their opponents were favored by more than 3.5. The Seahawks were favored by eight in Arizona’s 14-point win on Sunday.
5. LOS ANGELES RAMS (10-5)
WEEK 16 RANK: 6
The Rams’ first close game in over month ended in a cover and a guarantee that they will miss the playoffs. Week 17 marks their final game in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum before moving to SoFi Stadium in 2020. Not even draft position will be at stake since the Rams traded their first-round pick to Jacksonville for Jalen Ramsey.
4. GREEN BAY PACKERS (10-5)
WEEK 16 RANK: 5
Green Bay locked up the NFC North and is in the driver’s seat for a first-round bye. With the lowly Lions on the schedule, the bye is nearly a foregone conclusion. The Lions haven’t won in two months and the Packers have covered three of their last four games.
3. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (10-5)
WEEK 16 RANK: 3
The Saints are 13.5-point favorites this week. Not only are they one of the best teams in the league, but they’re playing a Carolina team that looked lost with its new quarterback. In their first meeting, the Saints won by three as 10-point home favorites.
2. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (10-5)
WEEK 16 RANK: 2
The Chiefs are on a tear after their fifth cover in a row. They do have something to play for this week in that they could get the second, third or fourth seed depending on how everything goes. They’re 8.5-point home favorites against the Chargers.
1. BUFFALO BILLS (9-4-2)
WEEK 16 RANK: 1
The Bills hold on to the top spot with a push. With a lead in the third quarter, they had the cover in hand until the Patriots scored with five minutes to play. In the end, there was no harm done to Buffalo’s bettors. They end the season playing the Jets at home as 1.5-point favorites.
