Due to the Jacoby Brissett injury, the Under Review guys didn’t end up placing last week’s Teaseburger wager. That was a fortunate thing as the Indianapolis Colts lost outright at home to the lowly Miami Dolphins, and the New Orleans Saints were crushed at home by the Atlanta Falcons. The only leg of the Week 10 Teaseburger that won was the Baltimore Ravens, and they dismantled the Cincinnati Bengals in a 49-13 victory that made Lamar Jackson one of the favorites to win the NFL MVP award.
Our hosts are looking to make up for lost money this weekend, and they are confident about this week’s Teaseburger plays. The first play of this week’s Teaseburger is a familiar one as the New England Patriots are on the card again. New England is currently -3.5 at BetOnline, and teasing the Patriots moves the line to +3.5.
The Patriots are 6-3 ATS this season, and they covered their teaser numbers in each of the first eight weeks. Baltimore ended that streak right before their bye week, so New England is out to start another run.
New England has one of the best defenses in the NFL, and Tom Brady has been efficient despite not having a solid downfield threat. However, the addition of Mohamed Sanu may have fixed that issue, and the former Atlanta receiver has now had some time to get into a rhythm with the Patriots. Philadelphia doesn’t have a solid secondary, so Brady has the potential to put up big numbers.
The second leg of the Week 11 Teaseburger is the New York Jets. Gang Green is currently an underdog of 2.5 points on the road against Washington, and they are coming off a nice win over the Giants last week. Teasing the Jets moves the line up to Jets +9.5, crossing four key numbers in the process.
Sam Darnold put together one of his best games of the season in Week 10. For the first time all year, Darnold didn’t throw an interception, and the Jets defense wasn’t bad last week.
This is more of a bet against the Redskins than it is a play on the Jets though. Washington has regressed since Jay Gruden was fired and replaced by Bill Callahan, and the old Raiders coach has done little to change the dynamic in the nation’s capital.
Washington has failed to score a touchdown in each of its last three games, kicking six field goals in losses to San Francisco, Minnesota, and Buffalo. The Redskins are coming off a bye week, so they should look more polished on offense, but rookie Dwayne Haskins has not instilled confidence in this team.
Owner Daniel Snyder made a big deal about landing Haskins in the offseason, but the Ohio State product has looked shaky in his limited time on the field. In three appearances, he has completed 61.4 percent of his passes and is averaging 6.5 YPA with no touchdowns and four interceptions. To complicate matters, Haskins is not a mobile quarterback, having been sacked eight times already this campaign. It’s hard to imagine Washington winning by double digits given those issues.
The anchor leg of this week’s Teaseburger is Oakland. The Raiders are currently -11 at BetOnline, and teasing Oakland moves the line down to Oakland -4. Oakland has had an extra few days to prepare for this game after playing the LA Chargers on Thursday Night Football last week, and they have a great chance to make the postseason in the AFC.
Oakland has an excellent offensive line, and Josh Jacobs has made a case to be the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He is currently the odds-on favorite to be named the 2019 OROY, and the first-round pick is on pace to run for 1,442 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati is in shambles. Zac Taylor is one of the most overmatched coaches in recent NFL history, and the Bengals are the lone winless team in the league at this point. Andy Dalton has been shut down to make way for rookie Ryan Finley, but Cincinnati is without its best offensive weapons as A.J. Green and John Ross III are both on injured reserve.
The Bengals may have given up on the season after suffering their worst loss of the year after a bye week, and they have lost three straight games by double digits. Cincinnati is in no position to put up a fight on the road.
