The Under Review Teaseburgers are always juicy, but they have been very profitable as well over the last few weeks. The hosts have cashed their Teaseburger pick in three straight weeks and five of the last six weeks overall, and they are out to put more money in their pockets for Black Friday weekend.
Last week’s picks were Seattle, New Orleans, and New England. The Seahawks were two-point underdogs on the road against the Eagles in Week 12, and they not only covered but won outright. The Eagles didn’t score their lone touchdown until late in the fourth quarter, and Seattle is now in commanding position in the NFC playoff picture.
New England was chosen for the 10th time this year, and the Pats came through once again. The Patriots didn’t win pretty against Dallas, but they held the Cowboys to three field goals and covered the teaser number in a 13-9 victory. Defense has been this team’s calling card, and New England is leaning heavily on this unit now that the weather is turning.
The only close call last week was New Orleans against Carolina. The Saints had a real tough time beating the Panthers, and they only covered the teaser by a half-point. New Orleans could only beat Carolina by a field goal, and that failed to cover the point spread, but it did cover with the extra points.
Although the Saints provided the biggest scare in Week 12, New Orleans is the first play of the Week 13 Teaseburger. They are laying seven points on the road against Atlanta on Thursday night, so a teaser would move this spread down to a straight pick ‘em.
Atlanta crushed New Orleans in the Superdome a few weeks ago, but New Orleans should have better play from both lines this time. The Falcons’ nonexistent pass rush got loose for the first time all year, and it’s hard to imagine a repeat performance.
Additionally, Julio Jones might not play, depriving Matt Ryan of his best weapon. Jones is nursing a hamstring injury and didn’t practice on Monday or Tuesday, but he could be cleared to play before Thursday’s game. That would give the hosts a boost.
Green Bay was the second pick of the Week 13 Teaseburger. The Packers were throttled at home by the San Francisco 49ers last week, but they want to bounce back with consecutive cupcakes on their schedule in the Giants and Redskins.
Aaron Rodgers remains one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and it’s hard to bet against him. Rodgers has shredded defenses with subpar secondaries for a while now, and he is posting great numbers despite only having one or two reliable receivers.
Meanwhile, the Giants have lost seven straight games. Daniels Jones has played somewhat well for a rookie, but Saquon Barkley has had a dismal sophomore campaign. Barkley has touched the ball 153 times for 720 yards all season, and it’s a wonder he hasn’t been run down considering his workload.
The final part of this week’s Teaseburger was originally Seattle. The Seahawks provide little value in terms of the NFL betting odds, as they are currently favored by three points, so a teaser would only make them an underdog of four points. That’s a pretty negligible bet.
More people are believing in Seattle after last week’s surprising win over Philadelphia in the City of Brotherly Love. Russell Wilson has a nice pair of receivers in Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf, and the Seahawks have been excellent on defense over the last few weeks.
Carolina replaced Seattle as the final leg of the Teaseburger just when the hosts were about to close out the show. This play is more of a Washington fade than anything else, but it’s not a bad option considering what we have seen from the Redskins.
Dwayne Haskins has not played well, and the Washington defense has been embarrassing this season. Kyle Allen isn’t Cam Newton, but he can manage a game pretty well and lead the Panthers to a win.
