The hosts of the Under Review show are feeling great this week after cashing another Teaseburger in Week 9. It was the second Teaseburger hit of the last three weeks, and the Under Review crew has now won nine of its last ten Teaseburger legs with the lone loss being the New York Jets failing to cover a touchdown tease by a single point against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8. Let’s look back at last week’s cashing tickets before diving into this week’s plays.
Buffalo had no trouble getting past Washington, easily winning its leg of the Teaseburger with a 24-9 victory last Sunday. Josh Allen didn’t have to do much as the Bills’ suffocating defense imposed their will on the visitors, in what was the most comfortable win of the bunch.
Seattle was fortunate to get past Tampa Bay last Sunday, but the Seahawks ended up cashing after beating the Buccaneers 40-34 in overtime. Mike Evans had a fantastic afternoon against Seattle’s secondary, but Russell Wilson was too much for Tampa Bay to overcome. Wilson completed 29 of 43 passes for 378 yards and five touchdowns to move the Seahawks to 7-2.
To cash the Teaseburger, the guys had to wait until Monday Night Football, but it was worth the wait. The New York Giants hung tough with the Dallas Cowboys for three quarters, but the Cowboys pulled away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Giants 21-3 on their way to a 37-18 victory. That easily covered the closing number at BetOnline as the Cowboys were favored by a touchdown per the NFL betting odds.
If you stopped listening after the third leg was released, you missed out on some money as the guys released a rare fourth leg of the Teaseburger. San Francisco was laying 9.5 points on the road against Arizona on Thursday Night Football, and although the final was close, the 49ers ended up winning by three to cover the teaser.
The most popular play on the board this week is Baltimore on the road against Cincinnati. The Ravens are currently -10 against the Bengals at BetOnline, and the opening leg of the Teaseburger will move Baltimore down to -3. All three hosts are very confident about Baltimore’s ability to cover, but there are a few reasons to be hesitant and tease the Ravens rather than bet them outright.
First, Baltimore had not been too impressive prior to the bye week. The Ravens had smashed Seattle on the road in Week 7, but before that nice win, they had lost to Cleveland at home by 15, needed overtime to beat Pittsburgh, and only beat Cincinnati at home by six points.
This is also a trap game for the Ravens. Baltimore will host Houston next week, and the Ravens have a habit of looking past bad teams. In addition to losing to Cleveland and only beating Cincinnati by six points in Baltimore in Week 6, the Ravens beat Arizona by just six points earlier in the season too.
Cincinnati is coming off a bye week, and that will give rookie Ryan Finley some extra time to prepare for Baltimore’s defense. Rookie quarterbacks have not fared poorly in their debuts in recent years with Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, and Kyler Murray all turning some heads with their play in their first games. It’s hard to imagine the Bengals winning, but it’s smart to tease this rather than lay the 10 points.
The second leg of this week’s Teaseburger is New Orleans. The Saints are currently -13 at home against Atlanta this Sunday at BetOnline, and teasing the Saints would move the line down to New Orleans -6. Dan Quinn might be the second head coach fired this season, and this Atlanta team looks like it has mailed it in. Drew Brees is back as New Orleans’ starting quarterback, so he should light up a Falcons defense that is the second worst pass defense in the NFL.
The final leg of the Week 10 Teaseburger is Indianapolis. The Colts are favored by 10.5 points at home against Miami, so teasing Indianapolis lowers the line to -3.5. That hook is a little concerning, but Miami is abysmal. Although the Dolphins finally won a game last week, this team has the least talent of any team in the NFL, so there shouldn’t be much of a concern backing the Colts.
