The third Grand Slam of the year is considered the most prestigious. Wimbledon is the only
major played on grass and the one most players grow up dreaming of winning one day. While
the women’s draw does have an overwhelming favorite, it’s still a wide open tournament and
we’ll explain why.
Iga Swiatek +300
Iga Swiatek is the most dominant player in the world right now and is coming off her third
straight French Open title and her fifth gram slam title overall. But she isn’t the favorite. Swiatek
has shown flashes of invisibility but for whatever reason, she hasn’t been able to put it together
at Wimbledon. In her four appearances in England, Swiatek has never made it past the quarter
final stage. But she has been rolling, could this finally be her year?
Aryna Sabalenka +280
Aryna Sabalenka battled through injury at Roland Garros before bowing out the quarters, the
earliest she’s exited a major since being eliminated in the third round at the French Open in
2022. She was the second seed at Wimbledon last year and on her way to the final until being
upset in the semis by Ons Jabeur. Sabalenka loves playing on grass and has reached the final
four at the All-England Club in the last two years. And in the last couple of weeks, has now
become the favorite.
Elena Rybakina +500
Elena Rybakina won this tournament back in 2022 and last year was knocked out in the
quarters by Jabeur after taking the first set. Having the experience of winning at the All-England
Club will go a long way, and depending on the draw, Rybakina could return to center court on
Championship Saturday.
Ons Jabeur +1400
Will the third time be the charm for Ons Jabeur? She has made the final at Wimbledon in each
of the last years only to fall and finish runner-up. She comes off a strong showing at Roland
Garros making it to the quarters before getting knocked out. The Tunisian is on the verge of a
major breakthrough and we could see it during this fortnight.
