Now we get to the outliers and squads that have some real room to move.

11. Los Angeles Rams (last season: 9-7)

Under the new playoff format the Rams would have made it as the No. 7 seed last season and gotten the chance to defend their NFC Title. Instead, they got the opportunity to watch another NFC West team make it to the big dance and blow it just as they did the year before. They’ve changed defensive coordinators and will have a new-look offense with Todd Gurley gone, but this team will go as far as Jared Goff can take them. But he’s got to improve significantly over last year’s performance.

12. Philadelphia Eagles (last season: 9-7)

The last NFC team to win a Super Bowl shows up outside the Top 10, but with probably the best roster they’ve had since that 2017 run. They’re solid on both sides of the ball and if Carson Wentz does go down, as he seems to do, Jalen Hurts is there to pick up the baton.

13. Dallas Cowboys (last season: 8-8)

New head coach Mike McCarthy can prove the naysayers wrong, of which I am certainly one, by getting this team with a Super Bowl roster to that Super Bowl.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (last season: 7-9)

This offseason the Bucs not only traded out Jameis Winston for Tom Brady, but landed Rob Gronkowski to boot. They will not be staying at No. 14. Or in the teens at all for that matter.

15. Minnesota Vikings (last season: 10-6)

Kirk Cousins had arguably the best season of his career with the Vikings and achieved his first double-digit win total as a starter. Why so low? Because the teams above them have better rosters and the Vikings traded away his second best receiver, Stefon Diggs, in the offseason.

16. Indianapolis Colts (last season: 7-9)

The Colts were close last season and the addition of Philip Rivers at quarterback should push them not only over the hump, but deep into the playoffs.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers (last season: 8-8)

The Steelers survived a season without Ben Roethlisberger, but have yet to do anything to shore up that position in the future if something happens again. Perhaps a call to Miami checking Josh Rosen’s trade status would be in order?

18. Atlanta Falcons (last season: 7-9)

Now four seasons removed from their epic Super Bowl choke-job loss to the New England Patriots, the Falcons at least have the roster to contend again. Whether the will and the coaching is there to do it is another matter.

19. Chicago Bears (last season: 8-8)

Chicago’s season will all come down to who takes the most snaps at quarterback. They’ve surely seen enough of Mitchell Trubisky at this point. Hand Nick Foles the keys and see what happens.

20. New York Jets (last season: 7-9)

In spite of having one of the worst rosters in football, the Jets managed to win seven games last season all because of head coach Adam Gase. And still, for some reason, everybody wants him fired.

To be concluded in Part 4.

Follow our BetOnline Twitter account for the latest sports news and betting odds, and stay tuned on the Instagram feed for more good information too.

BY ADAM GREENE We’ve already placed our Top 10 teams.
