College football returned on Saturday night as we had an FCS matchup between Austin Peay and Central Arkansas that was quite entertaining. The FBS returns on Thursday when South Alabama and Southern Miss will kick off the 2020 college football season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve actually got a number of games on the board this week beyond the aforementioned Thursday showdown. We\u2019ll also see SMU take on Texas State as part of a trio of games on Saturday followed by BYU and Navy on Monday, September 7th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The San Diego Padres have made a flurry of trades before the 2020 Major League Baseball trade deadline and the latest was acquiring Cleveland Indians ace Mike Clevinger. What\u2019s bizarre is the Indians traded away a quality pitcher when they\u2019re in first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clevinger has the second-best ERA in the American League since the start of 2017 (only behind Justin Verlander), so the Padres are getting an ace-caliber starter. We\u2019ll see if this propels them to push the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
