Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Dominic Thiem are three of the players trying to finally break through, but there is still a member of men’s tennis’ triumvirate in their way. Novak Djokovic is the odds-on favorite to win the US Open per the tennis betting odds, and it’s hard to go against him considering the way the world’s No. 1 is playing. Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic teamed up to win 33 of the 40 Grand Slam events contested in the 2010s, and we haven’t seen another player outside that group win a major since Stan Wawrinka claimed the 2016 US Open.

2020 Men’s US Open Betting Odds

Novak Djokovic -125

Daniil Medvedev +600

Stefanos Tsitsipas +700

Dominic Thiem +750

Alexander Zverev +2000

Miles Raonic +2000

Roberto Bautista-Agut +2500

Andrey Rublev +4000

Andy Murray +4000

Matteo Berrettini +4000

Denis Shapovalov +6000

All Other Players are +8000 or More

Djokovic has won five of the last seven majors, and he claimed the 2020 Australian Open earlier this year. He is still at the top of his game, and he won the US Open three times last decade. Djokovic has been excellent at the Cincinnati Masters this week, winning all his matches in straight sets ahead of his semifinal with Roberto Bautista-Agut, and he has a pretty nice draw as the No. 1 seed. While some of the other favorites have had some recent success against Djokovic, he has a winning record against each of the other top seeds, so he will be a difficult out.

Daniil Medvedev nearly claimed his first Grand Slam title here last year, but he lost in five sets to Rafael Nadal. That was the closest he has come to winning a major by far, as he has failed to get further than the fourth round in any of his other 13 appearances in a major. Medvedev was upset by Bautista-Agut in Cincinnati, and he has yet to win an ATP event this year. He has been much better on the hard court though given his height and baseline to baseline agility.

We have yet to see Stefanos Tsitsipas make it further than the semifinals of a major, and he hasn’t made it further than the fourth round on any other occasion. His best performance at the US Open is making it to the second round, but he should fare better here in 2020 given the weakened field. Tsitsipas made it to the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships earlier in the year, and he won the Open 13 in Marseilles, yet he has looked shaky in Cincinnati. He needed a tiebreaker to beat John Isner, was trailing Reilly Opelka when Opelka retired, and he continued to struggle against Miles Raonic in the Queen City.

The player in the next group of favorites to bet on if you think Djokovic will falter is Dominic Thiem. Thiem has made the finals of three different Grand Slam events in the last three years, and he led Djokovic 2-1 in the finals of the Australian Open before falling off. His three losses in finals have been to Nadal and Djokovic, but the fourth time may be the charm given what he has done against other top competitors in his career. Thiem may have been bounced early at the Cincinnati Masters, but that gives him some extra rest ahead of the two-week slog.

Follow our Twitter account for the latest sports news and wagering odds, and come to our Instagram for more useful betting info too.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won’t be at the U.S. Open this year, opening the door for one of tennis’…

[2

post-13206","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports
["GET
