Every week I come to you with the same humble proposition; let\u2019s use the NFL to make some crazy money with the cash you\u2019d blow on a couple of Venti Frappuccinos at Starbucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week was a doozy, it looked good on paper and ultimately exploded completely before the late games kicked off. But these are the odds we\u2019re dealing with. We\u2019re buying a lottery ticket, but instead of working from pure chance, we\u2019re using our knowledge of NFL teams and trends to up our odds. The worst case scenario is we\u2019re still out $20. But the best case is, well, pretty great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Take a look at what I got for you.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Bears +130<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Lions +139<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Jaguars +120<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Eagles +270<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Raiders +150<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Seahawks -5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Buccaneers -7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Patriots at Chiefs Over 52.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Falcons at Packers over 56.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Over the first weeks of the season, we\u2019ve gone pure moneyline for our boost, but that\u2019s off the table this week. The games are far too chaotic, thanks to plenty of factors and potential blow outs. And blow outs, in betting, are a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You see, in college football a team can benefit from running up the score on a lesser opponent. In fact, teams that don\u2019t, that win tighter games against lesser teams can sometimes be punished the polls. The NFL does not work that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An NFL head coach will take a 10-point win over any other squad any day of the week. It doesn\u2019t matter what anyone\u2019s Power Rankings say<\/a>. Professional football is all about winning. Winners keep their jobs. Winners take the championships and it doesn\u2019t matter if it\u2019s by one or 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So let\u2019s talk ourselves into this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019ve read this week\u2019s Friday Afternoon Quarterback<\/a>, then you know I\u2019ve already picked the Detroit Lions to upset the New Orleans Saints and the Las Vegas Raiders to upset the Buffalo Bills. I did not pick the Chicago Bears to beat the Indianapolis Colts or the Jacksonville Jaguars to knock off the Cincinnati Bengals, but it takes very little imagination to see either of those happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nick Foles is getting his first official start for the Bears after leading five out of six scoring drives (two were overturned via replay) in their win last week over the Atlanta Falcons. The Jaguars are facing a team with a rookie quarterback making his fourth start. And while Joe Burrow has played well, would you be surprised to see Scott Hanson break in on NFL Redzone with a Jacksonville final play victory?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Going back to this week\u2019s FAQ, to me the Bucs at -7 over the Los Angeles Chargers and Seahawks, now at -5.5, over the Miami Dolphins should be a part of any and every NFL parlay in America Sunday. That\u2019s as easy a pile of money as you could make. Frankly, you should just play a ton of cash on it alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To add the cherry on top, we\u2019ve got two OVERS, starting with the New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs. If both team just reach their scoring average over the first three weeks of the season, they\u2019ll hit 59 points. And it should be a wild one and potential AFC Championship Preview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers are a similar story. Though the Falcons are 0-3, they\u2019ve averaged 30 points a game. The Pack is 3-0 and averaged over 40 points a game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So what do you get if all these hit? A $20 bet turns into $30,364.33, which would park a brand new 2020 Ford Mustang GT Fastback in your driveway. Yeah, we\u2019re talking the modern version of what Steve McQueen drove in Bullitt<\/a>.
