This year\u2019s CJ Cup will be a little bit different than the last three events. Due to travel restrictions and COVID-19, this year\u2019s tournament won\u2019t be played at Nine Bridges Golf Club on Jeju Island in South Korea. Instead, Shadow Creek Golf Course will host this year\u2019s event, and it will be the first time a PGA Tour event has been played at this course. This isn\u2019t the first time this course has hosted a major golf event though, as the match play challenge between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson in 2018 took place here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the favorites<\/a> to win this event was forced to pull out on Tuesday. Dustin Johnson tested positive for COVID-19, leading him to withdraw from the tournament. Justin Thomas edged Marc Leishman in a playoff to win the inaugural CJ Cup in 2017, and he bested Danny Lee by two strokes last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The favorite to win the 2020 CJ Cup is Jon Rahm. Rahm has odds of +850<\/a> to win this event, while every other golfer in the small field is at least 11-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Shadow Creek is a public course, but it is one of the priciest public courses you will find in the world. It costs $500 to play a round here, so it\u2019s not as accessible as others. There are plenty of memorable holes though, especially considering it\u2019s built just north of Sin City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Golf Course Gurus, the par-four 3rd<\/sup> is the toughest on the course. This hole is 486 yards, and there are plenty of hazards for players to contend with as they try to strike it on the fairway. Conversely, the par-four 11th<\/sup> is one of the easiest holes on the course at a distance of just 324 yards.
