Our slog of horrid NFL prime time games continue as the Dallas Cowboys travel to eastern Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of all the awful featured games this week, this one at least was understandable when they put it together in the preseason. The Eagles are just a few years removed from a Super Bowl title and the Cowboys opened the year with a Super Bowl roster. We all know what\u2019s happened since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DALLAS COWBOYS AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-11, O\/U: 42.5)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Location:<\/strong> Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kickoff:<\/strong> 8:20 p.m. EST<\/p>\n\n\n\n Broadcast:<\/strong> NBC<\/p>\n\n\n\n THE HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n These two teams have been squaring off since Dallas entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. This will be the 123rd<\/sup> meeting between the squads with the Cowboys leading the series 69-53. Oddly enough, they\u2019ve never had a game end in a tie in 60 years, but it\u2019s 2020 so watch out for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They split their games last year, with the Eagles breaking a four-game losing streak to the Cowboys with a 17-9 win on Dec. 22. Carson Wentz had a terrific day, going 31 of 40 for 319 yards and a touchdown. Miles Sanders rushed for 79 yards and a score. For Dallas, Dak Prescott was 25 of 44 for 265 yards and Ezekiel Elliott was held to just 47 yards. All of the Cowboys\u2019 points came from Kai Forbath field goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n DALLAS<\/strong> COWBOYS (2-5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n With quarterback Andy Dalton ruled out and still in the concussion protocol, the Cowboys will once again call on No. 3 quarterback Ben DiNucci just in case you thought this game could be even the slightest bit entertaining. The Nooch attempted just three passes against the Washington Football Team last week, completing two of them for 39 yards. With Dalton on the field for most of last week\u2019s game, Dallas was held to just 12 first downs and 142 total yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Defensively, it was Dallas\u2019 best performance since their opening day loss to the Los Angeles Rams as they held their opponent under 30 for just the second time this season. But it was against the WFT, so what does that even mean?<\/p>\n\n\n\n PHILADELPHIA<\/strong> EAGLES (2-4-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When it comes to losses to Washington, the Eagles have no room to talk themselves after blowing a 17-0 lead in Week One to the team that remains nameless. Philadelphia did pick up a win last week, surviving a 22-21 slap fight with the New York Giants. Wentz was 25 of 43 passing for 359 yards and two touchdowns with a pick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was the end of a rough stretch for the Eagles, who\u2019ve been a play or two away from turning their season around in pretty much every game but one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The coaching match up here is laughable. Mike McCarthy, on his best day, needs an All-Universe quarterback to even keep his team in game. He already didn\u2019t have that with Dalton and now, with The Nooch, this one won\u2019t be close. Doug Pederson\u2019s Philly squad\u2019s been snakebit themselves, but the schedule is friendly over the next couple of weeks and they better take advantage of it.
