After floundering for weeks either through poor match ups or teams decimated with injuries, we have back-to-back elite division games on Thursday Night Football. This time it\u2019s the NFC West-leading Arizona Cardinals heading to CenturyLink Field to take on the team that was leading the NFC West as of last Sunday Morning, the Seattle Seahawks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ARIZONA<\/strong> CARDINALS AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-3, O\/U: 57.5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Location:<\/strong> CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kickoff:<\/strong> Nov. 19, 8:20 p.m. EST<\/p>\n\n\n\n Broadcast:<\/strong> FOX\/NFL Network<\/p>\n\n\n\n THE HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This match up is dead even in the history books as the Seahawks and Cardinals have played 43 times with a record of 21-21-1. Barring a tie, this one will act as the rubber match unless they meet up in the playoffs, which is entirely possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Their first game was in 1976, the year Seattle entered the NFL as an expansion team. The then St. Louis Cardinals won it 30-24. After the Seahawks moved to the AFC to begin the 1977 season, the two squads did not play again until 1983, with the Cards claiming that game as well. Though they only played periodically as members of opposite conferences, the Cardinals won their first five games, only losing once to Seattle before both teams joined the NFC West for good when the NFL re-aligned in 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Arizona currently enjoys a two-game win streak over the Seahawks with an overtime 37-34 win this season on Oct. 25, which turned out to be Seattle\u2019s first loss of the year. Cards quarterback Kyler Murray was 34 of 48 in the game for 360 yards, three touchdowns and interception. He also rushed for 67 yards and a score. Russell Wilson was 33 of 50 for 388 yards, three touchdowns, three picks and rushed for 84 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ARIZONA<\/strong> CARDINALS (6-3)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Cardinals are riding high after knocking off a superior Buffalo Bills team last week in so dramatic a fashion as it deserved chronicling in this week\u2019s Bad Beats<\/a>. In their 32-30 last-second win, Murray finished 22 of 32 for 245 yards, a touchdown and a pick. The touchdown in question was a rainbow 43-yard Hail Mary pass that All-Universe wideout DeAndre Hopkins dragged down between three Bills defenders. Hopkins finished with seven catches for 127 yards and that score. Running back Kenyan Drank carried the ball 16 times for 100 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SEATTLE<\/strong> SEAHAWKS (6-3)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For Seattle, the events of Sunday were remarkably different. They were completely shut down by the Los Angeles Rams defense, their second loss in a row. Russell Wilson was again sloppy with the ball, throwing two interceptions to go with 248 yards. He rushed for 60, but the Seahawks\u2019 rushing attack was stymied other than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The narrative here writes itself as Murray and Arizona show up at CenturyLink and either steal Seattle\u2019s crown, or crash and burn in overconfident hubris. Wilson\u2019s MVP campaign has stalled considerably as the team has lost three of their last four. In those three losses, Wilson has tossed seven interceptions. Still, I can\u2019t see him and Seattle losing three in a row. Especially not with playoff implications down the road.
