The Florida State Seminoles were another team that wasn\u2019t happy with the ending to the 2019 season. They had a 26-5 record and were in the midst of one of the most successful seasons in school history. They now look to accomplish all of that a second time as they hope to finish the year fully this time around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Offseason Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Seminoles aren\u2019t going to have to undergo an entire roster switch as the majority of their roster is returning this season. Trent Forrest, Devin Vassel and Patrick Williams all went into the NBA draft, which leaves a few holes to be filled in the offseason. While they also lost Dominik Olejniczak after he graduated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Scottie Barnes was the team\u2019s shiny new pickup during the offseason as he has excelled during each of his workouts, showcasing tremendous vision, size and athleticism. He has the potential to take the full lead of their point guard role straight away. They also are getting freshmen Quincy Ballard this year, as he has gotten tons of positive feedback from multiple coaches and should make a small impact on this team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For another year Leonard Hamilton will be retaining his head coaching position. This is going to be his 19th<\/sup> year with the team as he has a career record of 582-431.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Seminoles Will Succeed If\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n They are able to dominate the paint like they were able to do last season. This years Seminoles team features a ton of seven footers that are bound to clog up the painted area and force a lot of misses inside. Balsa Koprivica, a seven-footer, is one of the leaders of this team and has tremendous rebound ability. Other players such as Wyatt Wilkes and Nathanael Jack have also proven to be a force off the bench. Height should be a huge factor for this team if they are able to capitalize off of it correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Seminoles Will Fail If\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n They aren\u2019t able to pick up the scoring that they lost in the offseason. M.J. Walker is going to be the only returning starter that was averaging double digit points as they lost guys like Williams, Vassel and Forrest to the draft. The next highest scorer on this team is Koprivica, who averaged less than five points per contest last season. They will need players to step up big time in the scoring department or else it could be a bad season for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prediction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This team had a great amount of success last year and was unfortunately unable to capitalize off of that success due to the NCAA tournament being shut down. They lost a number of high-quality players on their starting lineup and are hopeful to fill in those holes with new additions such as Barnes. This is already a team that should be a lock for the tournament this season, but if they are able to mesh together nicely it could mean for a deeper run. This Seminoles team is going to be talented, but they lost far too much scoring to put them in the final four.
