Champion Hideki Matsuyama and many of the other highest ranked golfers won\u2019t be taking part in the RBC Heritage Open, but there are still some big names that will tee off on Thursday. Masters\u2019 runner-up Will Zalatoris, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, and last year\u2019s winner Webb Simpson are among the favorites<\/a> on Hilton Head Island. Dustin Johnson is the overall favorite, but some of the shine is off his star after he failed to make the cut at Augusta National.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Webb Simpson set a course record on his way to winning the 2020 RBC Heritage Open in June. Last year\u2019s event was pushed back due to COVID, and it was one of the first tournaments that was played whenever the PGA Tour resumed. Simpson showed no signs of rust by shooting a -22 to beat Abraham Ancer by a single stroke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to Simpson\u2019s victory, the last four winners of the RBC Heritage Open were first-time champions. The most successful golfer in the history of this tournament is Davis Love III. Love won this event five times in his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wind will play a factor at this year\u2019s RBC Heritage Open. Any time you have a coastal course, there\u2019s always a chance for the elements to come into play, and this year\u2019s event is no exception. The wind is expected to move from west to east and then back to west over the course of this event, so competitors must always keep an eye on which way it is blowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Value Play to Win the Tournament: Matt Kuchar +5500<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a great spot<\/a> to bet on Matt Kuchar to win his 10th<\/sup> PGA Tour event. Kuchar won the 2014 RBC Heritage Open by one stroke over Luke Donald. He hasn\u2019t been great this season, missing the cut in four of his last eight events, but he finished third at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. Kuchar has been solid at the RBC Heritage over his career though, and he has four top ten finishes and three top five finishes in the last seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top 5 Prop: Brian Harman +700<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harman has three T8 finishes in his last seven events, and he finished T12 at the Masters. He was in good position for a T5 finish at Augusta National after consecutive 69s on Thursday and Friday, but he wilted over the weekend with back-to-back 74s on Saturday and Sunday. Harman has yet to finish better than seventh at the RBC Heritage Open, yet he is in good form and has a lot of familiarity with the intricacies of this course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
