After being delayed by a year, EURO 2020 will kick off this weekend. The 24 best teams in Europe will take part in this month-long tournament that will enrapture a continent. France is the tournament favorite<\/a> after winning the 2018 World Cup, but England and Belgium have a great chance to win their first European Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

France is the team to beat after winning the last World Cup. There is an abundance of talent for Didier Deschamps to deploy, starting up front with Kylian Mbappe, Olivier Giroud, Karim Benzema, and Antoine Griezmann. Paul Pogba, Thomas Lemar, and N\u2019Golo Kante are all superb in the midfield, and the defense is solid too with Benjamin Pavard leading the way. This team should survive the Group of Death, and their biggest issue might be chemistry. There are reports circulating that Mbappe and Giroud are feuding, and that could present a real challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That might open the door for England. The Three Lions should have no trouble advancing out of Group D, and they made it to the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup. Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, and Marcus Rashford are about as good as it gets for an attacking trio, and Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho can provide sparks off the bench. Jordan Pickford proved he was solid in net three years ago, and the defense should be steadfast with Harry Maguire in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is likely Belgium\u2019s last, best hope to win a major international tournament. The Belgians were stunned by Wales in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Euros, but they finished in third place at the 2018 World Cup. They won\u2019t have Kevin De Bruyne for at least the first game, but Roberto Martinez\u2019s side still has Eden Hazard to command the midfield. Belgium should win Group B, yet the Group Stage could be a bit tricky since they play Russia and Denmark in those countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Italy ranks among the favorites<\/a>, the Azzurri<\/em> are somewhat flying under the radar. They haven\u2019t fared well in international tournaments recently, but they have looked great in recent matches. Italy is in a very manageable group, and there are some attacking options to go with their typically strong back line. It will be strange to see the Azzurri <\/em>without Gianluigi Buffon in net, but this team has what it takes to win the Euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next three favorites probably aren\u2019t worth backing at those prices<\/a>. Portugal, Germany, and Spain are all flawed teams that shouldn\u2019t be getting the respect they are from the oddsmakers. All three teams have won a major international tournament in the last decade, but it\u2019s hard to back them here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Netherlands are worth a bet at 16-1 though. The Dutch are in the easiest group of the six, and there is a lot of young talent that can carry them to a title. Nathan Ake and Matthijs de Ligt are strong in defense, and Frenkie de Jong could have a breakout tournament. Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong are solid forwards, and it\u2019s worth backing the Oranje <\/em>at double the odds of Portugal to win EURO 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
