Heavyweights are the main attraction on this Saturday\u2019s event as Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov square off in a battle of top contenders, while Tanner Boser tests his mettle against veteran Ovince St. Preux. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
UFC on ESPN: Gane vs. Volkov will be held at the UFC Apex Training Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, June 26, 2021. The preliminary bouts will start at 1 p.m. ET with the main card slated to get underway at 4 p.m. ET. The entire event will be available on ESPN+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UFC on ESPN: Gane vs. Volkov Betting Odds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ciryl Gane -137<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alexander Volkov +117<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Gane is a slight favorite<\/a> over Volkov in the main event. The official UFC rankings have Gane as the third-best heavyweight, and he is seen as an up-and-coming star. He was undefeated as a professional Muay Thai fighter before joining TKO and submitted his opponent for the heavyweight title in his first fight. Gane defended that title twice with two TKO wins before joining the UFC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He has been very impressive in his five UFC fights. Gane submitted Raphael Pessoa and Don\u2019Tale Mayes inside the distance, secured unanimous decision wins over Tanner Boser and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and he scored a TKO over Junior dos Santos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Volkov is being heralded as Gane\u2019s toughest test yet as he climbs the ladder in the heavyweight division. The Russian has scored second-round TKO victories over Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris in his last two fights, but he has recent losses to Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. Volkov is clearly one of the five or six best heavyweights in the class, but Gane seems like the real deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tanner Boser -170<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ovince St. Preux +145<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The last two fights have been rough for Tanner Boser. He lost a unanimous decision to Andrei Arlovski in November and dropped a split decision to Ilir Latifi three weeks ago. That has led to Bozer falling out of the heavyweight rankings. Boser has kept himself a lot busier than most fighters though with six fights in the last 20 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He will have the edge over Ovince St. Preux. The Von Flue specialist can be a tricky match-up for more inexperienced fighters, but Boser has a lot of experience and will know how to handle St. Preux\u2019s unorthodox style. St. Preux has won just three of his last eight fights, so Boser will bounce back with a convincing victory<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Raoni Barcelos -220<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Timur Valiev +185<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Barcelos has not lost a fight in over seven years. He has racked up nine straight victories since his lone defeat, but this is just his fourth bout in the UFC. We saw Barcelos secure a unanimous decision over Khalid Taha that earned him Fight of the Night honors in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is Valiev\u2019s third UFC fight. He lost his debut but had it overturned after his opponent tested positive for marijuana, and he beat Martin Day by unanimous decision in February.
