Alongside a lot of the usual events like men’s basketball and women’s soccer, we will be seeing skateboarding, surfing, sport climbing and karate for the very first time. That isn’t all either, as both softball and baseball are planned to return to the Olympics after a brief time away. Here we take a look at some of the upcoming over-unders for the top projected countries this year, and one group is planned to absolutely dominate once again. Let’s take a look and see where a few of the best countries stand before the Olympics officially begin.

USA – 110.5 medals

USA has a great opportunity to surpass this projection in the upcoming Olympics. They were able to pick up a whopping 121 medals back in 2016, with 46 gold medals, 37 silver and 38 bronzes. It wasn’t very close either, as the next closest nation was China with only 70 total. One would likely think that another country would have a strong chance to surpass USA this year, but the odds don’t think so at all. USA is expected to completely dominate the Olympics after doing so back in 2016 even with the new events that are planned to come in.

China – 85.5

China is the only country to have come pretty close to the USA in terms of medal count lately. In fact, China was able to actually top USA in total gold medals during the 2008 Beijing Games with 48, though USA still dominated in terms of total medals. They have a pretty solid chance considering that the games are back onto Asian soil and may be the country with the best shot at knocking off the overwhelming favorites. They weren’t able to hit this mark in 2016, so it won’t be easy to get themselves up to 85.5 total medals this year.

Great Britain – 42.5

Great Britain has come on strong lately and has really surprised some people. During the 2016 Olympics, Great Britain was able to surpass China and finish in second place with 27 gold medals. They only beat China by one in that category, but it was definitely a statement performance, one that could carry over to this year’s games. Given the fact that they have a solid chance to place in a number of different events, hitting 42 total medals is totally doable.

Japan – 59.5

Japan is expected to come out with a ton of new motivation now that they are the host country for these games. Japan has solid odds to win or even place in quite a few different events here and could end up rocketing up the rankings when it comes to total medals. They are likely not going to be overtaking either Great Britain or China but have a lot of potential this year. Japan isn’t nearly as heavily projected to win as any of the above countries but that doesn’t mean they don’t stand a fighting chance.

The 2021 Olympics are planned to be held in Tokyo this time around and should have a handful of new…

[2

post-18199","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports
["GET
