There will be 24 teams from all over the world that head to Iceland with the goal of lifting the Summoners’ Cup and becoming the top team in League of Legends. We will see dozens of games over the month, but only one team can reign supreme this November.

2021 League of Legends World Championship Betting Odds

FunPlus Phoenix +200
Edward Gaming +250
DWG KIA +300
Royal Never Give Up +400
MAD Lions +1000
T1 +1200
Gen.G +1600
Fnatic +1600
LNG Esports +2000
Rogue +2000
PSG Talon +2900
Hanwha Life +3400
100 Thieves +3400
Team Liquid +4000
Cloud9 +5000
All Other Teams are +8000 or More

The overall favorite to win the 2021 League of Legends World Championship is FunPlus Phoenix. Although FunPlus Phoenix didn’t win the Spring Split or the Summer Split in the LPL, they finished runner-up in each season. They have four members of the 2019 Worlds winning team, and top laner Nuguri helped lead DWG KIA to a world championship in 2020. This is probably the most talented team in the world, but the meta might not suit them if it’s jungle heavy or bottom lane dependent.

A bottom lane focused meta would really help Edward Gaming in their quest to win their first world championship. EDG have maybe the best bottom lane in the world with Viper at AD Carry and Meiko at support. Viper helped lead EDG past FPX in the LPL Summer Split Playoffs, and they have a favorable draw in a group with both 100 Thieves and T1. Jungle is a concern though.

DWG KIA are the defending world champions. Four of five starters from last year’s team are back with the lone exception being top laner Khan. The mid-jungle duo of Showmaker and Canyon is the best in the world, and that will make the three-time LCK champions very formidable. The bottom lane is good, but not great, so a lot will turn on the play of support Beryl.

At this price, Royal Never Give Up is a pass. The LPL Spring Split champions and reigning Mid-Season Invitational champions have been somewhat figured out domestically, as the novelty of Xiaohu moving to top lane has somewhat worn off. Opponents have figured out how to mitigate some of his picks, and he can’t play off tanks as well as some of his counterparts.

If you’re looking for a longer shot, you might want to take a chance on two of the LEC teams. MAD Lions and Fnatic both might be able to bring Europe their long-awaited world champion, and we have seen European teams fare well internationally in each of the last three years. MAD Lions proved themselves at the Mid-Season Invitational and have only gotten better with more experience, and Fnatic might be the team that sets the meta with innovative drafts.

Follow our Twitter account for the latest sports news and wagering odds, and come to our Instagram for more useful betting info too.

The most-watched Esports tournament in the world will get underway on October 5, 2021.
