Jason Kokrak is the defending champion of this tournament. He beat Xander Schauffele by two strokes at Shadow Creek last year, capitalizing on an eight-under on Sunday to claim his first PGA Tour title. Kokrak has since added a second tour win after winning the Charles Schwab Challenge in late May, yet he is still 50-1 to win this weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of the biggest names on the PGA Tour will be making their 2021-22 debuts at the 2021 CJ Cup. Justin Thomas was a no-brainer to participate here given his success, but Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele will also take part in this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Summit Club is a course designed by Tom Fazio. It is a par-72 that checks in at 7,431 yards located on the outskirts of Las Vegas. There is a lot of green for a course in the middle of the desert, and there are challenging bunkers and greens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Bet to Win BMW Championship: Collin Morikawa +1600<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collin Morikawa should be the favorite<\/a> to win the CJ Cup. Morikawa is a member of The Summit Club, so he has plenty of familiarity with this course and its intricacies. He has shot a 62 here in the past, while other favorites are much less experienced with this course since it only opened to the public in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morikawa might be primed to announce he is the best golfer in the world too. He won the 2020 PGA Championship as a rookie, and he claimed The Open Championship three months ago. The 24-year-old ended the season on a down note in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, but he has had time to rest and recuperate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Value Play to Win BMW Championship: Brooks Koepka +3000<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whereas most players are making their 2021-22 PGA Tour debut at the CJ Cup, we saw Brooks Koepka tee off last week. Koepka was near the bottom of the field at the Shriners Children\u2019s Open with a T67 finish, but that has given him the chance to shake out the cobwebs before other golfers. Koepka has eight PGA Tour victories and won the CJ Cup two years ago, so he has to be seen as a fringe contender when healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
