Georgia is the undisputed No. 1 team in the country after Alabama\u2019s loss last week, and the Bulldogs\u2019 defense is one of the best defenses we\u2019ve seen in the last decade. That has led to the oddsmakers making UGA a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.betonline.ag\/sportsbook\/football\/ncaa\">three-touchdown favorite<\/a> against the unbeaten Kentucky Wildcats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kentucky will travel to Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia to face the Bulldogs on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>College Football Betting Odds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kentucky +22<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Georgia -22<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Total 44.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s been a banner year for Kentucky. After close wins against Missouri and FCS UT-Chattanooga, the Wildcats have looked great in October. They beat Florida at home for the first time since the 1980s, and they hammered LSU last week 42-21. Kentucky ran for 330 total yards against the Tigers, showcasing they are a team to be feared in the SEC East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Big Point Spread in Battle of the Unbeaten | Kentucky vs Georgia College Football Picks\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IUo3kSLMM7w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Georgia\u2019s defense is bonkers. The Bulldogs rank first in every major defensive category, allowing 5.5 PPG, 203.5 YPG, and 3.4 yards per play. That has led to them winning every game since their season opener by at least 24 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When Georgia Has the Ball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J.T. Daniels is still the starting quarterback, but the Bulldogs have not felt the need to play him since their win over Vanderbilt. Daniels is reportedly dealing with a back injury, allowing fan favorite Stetson Bennett IV to shine in his place. Bennett is averaging 12.0 YPA with eight touchdowns and two interceptions this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bulldogs\u2019 offense is paced by its ground game. Georgia is averaging 4.7 YPC, as this team feels content to run the ball and play risk-free football. It\u2019s Kirby Smart\u2019s dream, as this offense doesn\u2019t have to throw the ball much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kentucky has been very good on defense this year. The Wildcats are allowing 3.0 YPC, and they have been good in the secondary too. Florida was able to move the ball successfully on this defense two weeks ago though, so Georgia should have similar success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When Kentucky Has the Ball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wildcats\u2019 offense plays right into Georgia\u2019s hands. Kentucky has a great ground game that is averaging 5.5 YPC. Chris Rodriguez Jr. has shined by running for 768 yards and five touchdowns, and both Kavosiey Smoke and quarterback Will Levis are running well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Levis is not a good passer though. He is averaging 8.4 YPA, but those numbers are heavily boosted by play action, and he really struggled to throw the ball effectively against South Carolina and Florida. The Penn State transfer threw for a combined 189 yards with two interceptions against those two teams, averaging under 5.0 YPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Georgia\u2019s defense is dripping with talent. The front seven and secondary are both elite, and there\u2019s a good chance that seven or eight players make the all-conference team. The Bulldogs have the best defense of the last decade per EPA, and any team will be hard-pressed to move the ball against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prediction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be tough for Kentucky to score more than twice against Georgia. The Wildcats don\u2019t have a dangerous passing game, and they won\u2019t be able to run the ball well against the Bulldogs.
